As expected, the whole family went out for fun during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The route was Kunming--Dali---Lijiang---Dali---Kunming. However, my cervical spondylosis came back before we went out. My neck hurt and it was difficult to lower my head. The day before we went out, I drank red wine and my stomach problem came back. When we arrived in Lijiang, I caught a cold and had a fever. The Mid-Autumn Festival turned into a disaster. I felt drowsy the whole time and took several kinds of medicine, which made me become a big medicine bottle. It was really terrible. It turns out that health is the most important wealth when you are old! I'm getting off topic. I went to Shibaoshan during the Mid-Autumn Festival and it was quite nice. Let me tell you about it.

The scenery along the way was even more beautiful than in the photos. Dali in autumn is refreshing.

Shibao Mountain is in a pretty good location. It's not far from the route from Dali to Lijiang. If you want to go to Shaxi Ancient Town, you will also pass by Shibao Mountain from the Dali-Lijiang Expressway to Shaxi. We originally planned to go to Shaxi Ancient Town, but considering that there probably weren't many things to do in Shaxi Ancient Town and we had to go to Lijiang that day, we chose Shibao Mountain midway. Shibao Mountain is where the Grottoes and Baoxiang Temple are located. As the name suggests, there are two places to visit. Let me talk about its advantages.

Advantage 1: Shibao Mountain is a small mountain. Due to the inconvenient transportation, few people go there. We went on holiday on the 19th, but there were only six or seven cars parked at the door, and the shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes was barely full. There were really few people. The mountains inside are small hills. What’s interesting is that it had just rained when we went there. There were all kinds of small mushrooms on the roadside, and there were many people who specialized in picking and collecting mushrooms.

The mountain gate has a heavy sense of history. Just looking at the photos, I thought it was from the Anti-Japanese War period.

There are various small mushrooms on the roadside. There are probably more before you go inside. There are often some big mushrooms thrown by the old ladies who pick mushrooms on the roadside.

Advantage 2: There are many monkeys. Shibao Mountain might as well be called Monkey Mountain. Compared with Qianling Mountain in Guizhou, there are many monkeys here, and they are more wild. There are a bunch of mother monkeys with their baby monkeys in the parking lot at the gate. When you enter the parking lot to feed them, you can see big monkeys scaring other monkeys in order to grab food. Advantage three: The grottoes are quite good. Although they are smaller and more scattered, you can still bring your children to have a look and learn more when they grow up. There is a grotto further away. If you have enough time and like grottoes, it should be no problem to stay in Shaxi for two days.

The last ticket is not expensive. It is actually quite generous to charge a shuttle bus fee (it is quite a long way to go there and back). It is worth a visit.
