There are three ancient towns in Lijiang, Lijiang Old Town, Shuhe Ancient Town and Baisha Ancient Town. I chose to stay in Shuhe Ancient Town based on vague memories of working as a bricklayer there years ago, and it was so worth it.
It's not as bustling as Lijiang Old Town, nor as cramped as Baisha Old Town. You can overlook the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain National Scenic Area, and a trickling stream flows throughout the ancient town, creating a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Nine Tripod Dragon Pond gathers meltwater from the snow-capped mountains, Lover's Bridge symbolizes love, and Hari Valley offers a serene paradise. After a tiring day of strolling, I came to Feihua Touching Water for a relaxing drink. I stayed there for four nights and still couldn't bear to leave.
I've always loved ancient towns
Away from the hustle and bustle of the world, I live a slow-paced life. This time in Lijiang, I found my ideal secluded life.
In the past, I was mostly using my camera to record the beautiful scenery, and my mind was full of camera positions.
It has been a long time since I traveled without any purpose. That kind of relaxed and comfortable mood
is what I like about traveling in the first place.
Located at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, Baisha Ancient Town has just snowed on the mountain.
Walking around the town, stopping to visit small shops, eating local rice noodles and mushroom soup, taking a few photos with the snow-capped mountains
Then find a place to sit down and rest and chat. The long-lost relaxation and freedom
The town has unlocked various ways to frame the snow-capped mountains
You can go to the roof to take pictures of the snow-capped mountains, or you can frame the snow-capped mountains
Walk a few hundred meters and drink coffee while watching the sunrise on the Golden Mountain. This place satisfies all my desires for framing the snow-capped mountains
The locals are very friendly and will help with the luggage when getting on and off the bus.
They speak slowly. Even the dogs and cats stroll lazily here. It feels like a paradise, isolated from the trivialities of the city.
You just need to slowly feel and savor every moment. Yunnan in the off-season is really an ideal place on earth.
