Food, history tour with 17 year old

I know this is last minute, especially with St. Patty’s, but we are looking for a food/history tour for tomorrow 3/16. It would need to be a tour that we could bring our 17 year old son on. It would be a bonus if my husband and I could purchase a drink or two along the tour. Any suggestions

It sounds like you’re looking for a fun and educational experience in Savannah that includes both food and history, with the flexibility to enjoy a drink along the way. Savannah is known for its culinary scene and rich history, so you're in luck! There are a few options that would be perfect for your family, including your 17-year-old son. Here are some suggestions:

  • Savannah Taste Experience: This food tour offers a mix of history and food while taking you through some of Savannah's most iconic neighborhoods. They offer family-friendly tours, so your 17-year-old will be welcome. On this tour, you’ll sample a variety of local dishes while learning about the city's history and culture. Some of their tours even include stops at local bars, where adults can enjoy a drink. Check with the tour guide in advance to confirm if alcohol is available during the tour you book.
  • Old Savannah Tours - The History & Food Tour: This tour combines a guided history walk through Savannah's beautiful historic district with food stops at various local eateries. It’s an educational yet fun way to explore the city’s food scene and historical landmarks. Some of the tours are adult-friendly, allowing you to purchase drinks at certain stops. It's a great way to blend history, food, and the unique atmosphere of Savannah, and they’re typically very accommodating for families.
  • Savannah Riverboat Dining Cruise: If you’re looking for a unique experience that combines food and history with a scenic view, consider the Savannah Riverboat Dining Cruise. While it’s more of a boat ride than a walking tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal with historical commentary on the river's significance to the city. This is an enjoyable and relaxed option where you can purchase drinks while enjoying the views. It's a family-friendly experience, and your son will likely appreciate the boat ride and history lesson!

Given that it’s last minute, it’s a good idea to book as soon as possible, especially with St. Patrick’s Day festivities going on in the city. Be sure to confirm with the tour provider that the tour is suitable for your son and that drinks are allowed for adults, as some tours may have restrictions.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your time in Savannah!
