Flights2florida
Has anyone used this company recently? I'm looking to book flights for well over 18 months time and they have the exact day/times airports we need to fly from and to. Having read reviews from circa 5 years ago plus they got some bad press people saying they hiked up prices when flights went live, unsure how correct this is? Surely if you book and pay for a flight it's booked? Anyone used them or have advice
Flights2Florida is a travel booking service that specializes in flights to Florida, often targeting travelers looking for specific dates and airport options. When considering booking far in advance—such as over 18 months—there are a few important points to understand about how these types of services operate and what risks may be involved.
Booking a flight through Flights2Florida or similar agencies usually involves purchasing tickets through major airlines, but the service itself acts as a reseller. While paying for a flight generally means your seat is reserved, there are nuances when booking so far in advance:
- Price changes: Some older reviews and reports indicated that Flights2Florida might have shown lower preliminary prices before the flight officially became available and then raised prices when tickets went live. This can happen with agencies that display estimated fares before airlines release final inventory. It does not mean the company is acting illegally, but it is a potential risk.
- Payment and confirmation: When you pay for a ticket, the booking should be confirmed with an official airline confirmation number. Without this, a payment alone does not guarantee your seat. Always ensure you receive a valid airline confirmation directly from the carrier or via Flights2Florida before assuming the flight is booked.
- Far-in-advance bookings: Airlines may not have final schedules, aircraft, or fares available 18+ months in advance. Some flights may be tentative and could change in terms of aircraft, times, or even availability. Agencies sometimes allow “pre-booking” but finalization may only occur once the airline releases the schedule.
Tips and precautions if you consider using Flights2Florida:
- Confirm that your payment goes directly to the airline or a secure booking platform rather than only the travel agency. This can protect you in case of any disputes.
- Check whether the agency provides a valid airline confirmation number immediately after booking.
- Review cancellation, change, and refund policies carefully. Since you are booking far in advance, flexibility may be important if schedules change.
- Consider calling the airline directly after booking to verify your reservation and details. This adds a layer of security and peace of mind.
- Look for recent reviews (past 6–12 months) rather than older reports, as company policies and reliability can change over time.
In summary, booking through Flights2Florida can be convenient if they show the exact flights you want, but caution is advised for bookings this far out. Ensure you receive proper airline confirmation, verify payment security, and understand that some details might change. Many travelers prefer booking directly with the airline for far-future flights to reduce these risks, even if it requires more research or monitoring for price updates.
