Followup to Disney Visa Question

For some reason, I didn't have the option to reply to my Disney Visa question. Thanks for all the input-very helpful.

From what I found out, if you charge the remaining amt due on Disney Visa, then the Disney dollars are awarded the next month. So, that could be after you leave for your trip. They will not issue a rewards card until you have $20 in rewards. It takes 8-10 days to get the card. But, if you leave on your trip before that time, you can go to Guest Services and they can issue you a card. You can call Disney Visa for them to load it.

One Disney rep said if you pay the remainder on Disney Visa, you get DOUBLE points back. I was calling about another matter and tried to confirm that. But the second Disney rep said she could not confirm that you get double the Disney points for the remainder of your vacation plan.

Have any of your gotten double the points when you pay off the remainder on Disney Visa?

Thanks!

Based on what you’ve outlined, Disney Visa rewards for paying off the remainder of a vacation package can be a bit confusing, and it appears there are some inconsistencies between what different representatives may say. Here’s a detailed explanation of how it generally works:

When you pay the remaining balance of a Disney vacation with a Disney Visa card, the points or Disney Dollars you earn are usually posted the following billing cycle. If the total earned rewards are less than $20, Disney will not issue a physical rewards card until the balance reaches $20, and it typically takes 8-10 days to receive the card.

If you leave before your rewards card is issued, you have a couple of options:

  • Visit Guest Services at a Disney park or resort. They can issue a rewards card for the amount you’ve earned, allowing you to use the Disney Dollars during your trip.
  • Call the Disney Visa customer service line and request that the points be loaded directly onto a card for immediate use.

Regarding the double points for paying off the remainder of a vacation plan:

  • Some Disney Visa reps may mention that certain charges or final payments on vacation packages can earn double points, but this is not guaranteed and is often only confirmed in writing or through the Disney Visa Terms & Conditions.
  • There appears to be no consistent official confirmation that the remaining balance payment automatically earns double points. Many travelers report that only promotional purchases or special bonus offers are eligible for double points.
  • To ensure you receive the maximum points, check your Disney Visa account after the payment posts and contact Disney Visa support to confirm any missing points.

In summary, while it’s possible some travelers have received double points on final vacation payments, it is not a guaranteed benefit. The safest approach is to monitor your rewards after the transaction posts and use Guest Services or call Disney Visa if you need the Disney Dollars immediately for your trip.

So yes, your understanding is correct: rewards post after the billing cycle, physical cards take 8-10 days, and double points on the final payment are not consistently confirmed.
