Looking for nightlife & afternoon fun- singles over 40
Hi, heading to Vilano Beach/ St Augustines Thurs may 16 to Sunday afternoon. Staying right above the inlet a block off the beach
We are over 40… all ladies & single. Looking for nightlife fun. The closer the better, but willing to Uber within 15 min or so of our stay.
FUN. MUSIC. Drinks. Singles. Afternoon & nightlife!! Beacy feels and close to beach the better.
NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY, lol.
St. Augustine and Vilano Beach offer a mix of relaxed beach vibes and lively spots for music, drinks, and socializing. For a group of singles over 40 looking for both afternoon fun and nightlife, there are plenty of options within a short drive or Uber ride.
For afternoon beach and bar fun:
- Vilano Beach Bars & Cafés: While Vilano itself is quieter than downtown St. Augustine, there are some beachfront cafés and bars where you can enjoy drinks with ocean views. Great for starting the afternoon with relaxed beachside cocktails.
- St. Augustine Beach Pier & A1A area: Within 10–15 minutes by car, this area has lively bars, tiki huts, and beachside restaurants where you can enjoy happy hours, live music, and casual mingling. The vibe is laid-back but social.
- Ice Plant Bar: Located in downtown St. Augustine, this speakeasy-style bar has a stylish atmosphere, craft cocktails, and a crowd that’s generally 30s and 40s+. Great for an early evening stop before dinner or nightlife hopping.
For evening and nightlife options:
- Downtown St. Augustine Bars & Live Music: St. George Street and nearby side streets are packed with bars featuring live music, DJs, and dancing. Popular spots for a lively crowd include:
- Prohibition Kitchen: Energetic, live music, great cocktails, and a younger-40s crowd.
- O’Steen’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill: Classic bar vibe with live music, dancing, and social atmosphere.
- Raintree Restaurant & Rooftop Bar: Rooftop views, music, and a fun mixed crowd—good for singles.
- Nightlife Districts: For dancing and late-night drinks, check the downtown area around Cathedral Place and nearby streets. These spots attract locals and tourists looking to socialize and enjoy music.
Additional tips for a fun, adults-only visit:
- Start with afternoon beachside cocktails at Vilano or St. Augustine Beach, then transition to downtown bars for music and dancing in the evening.
- Uber or rideshare is convenient, as parking downtown can be tricky and you’ll want to enjoy drinks responsibly.
- Check live music schedules ahead of time—many bars have specific nights for bands, DJs, or themed events that can be more fun for singles.
- Late evenings on St. George Street are lively, but avoid peak tourist times if you prefer a more relaxed vibe. Thursday through Saturday nights are busiest for nightlife.
Overall, the combination of beachside drinks in the afternoon and downtown nightlife within 10–15 minutes makes St. Augustine and Vilano Beach a fun spot for singles over 40. You can enjoy the ocean views, cocktails, and live music, then easily transition to dancing or socializing in the evening.
