Beach Parking ??

Considering a 1 month stay in West Palm Beach, and would expect to be on the beach often. Using Google Maps I cannot see any place to park a car near to the various beaches. Where can one park and walk to the beach -- consider a mile or two up or down the beach from the West Palm Municipal Beach. Thanks for any info.

If you’re planning a month-long stay in West Palm Beach and intend to spend a lot of time on the beach, parking is definitely something to plan for, as the area can get busy, especially near West Palm Municipal Beach. While Google Maps might not clearly show every lot, there are several options within walking distance, typically a mile or two along the shoreline.

Here are some parking options near West Palm Beach beaches:

  • Municipal Parking Lots: There are a few municipal lots near the main beach entrances. These usually charge hourly or daily rates but provide convenient access.
  • Street Parking: Parallel parking along Ocean Boulevard and nearby streets can be found, but be sure to check the signs for time limits and permit requirements.
  • Private Parking Garages: Some nearby hotels and condos have public or pay-to-park garages that can be used even if you are not a guest, often a short walk from the sand.
  • Beachfront Parks: Small parks along the coast may have parking areas that are open to the public. These are often quieter and less crowded than the main beach lots.

Additional tips for managing beach parking during an extended stay:

  • Consider a monthly parking pass if available at municipal lots; this can save money and guarantee a spot near your favorite section of the beach.
  • Arrive early in the day, especially on weekends and holidays, as prime spots fill quickly.
  • Walking a bit farther (a mile or two) can give you access to less crowded areas and often free or cheaper parking.
  • Check with your accommodation — some rentals or hotels provide beach parking passes or have arrangements with nearby lots.

By combining municipal lots, street parking, and perhaps a monthly pass, you should be able to enjoy frequent beach visits without too much hassle. Planning ahead and knowing your options will make a month-long stay much more relaxing.
