Trip with Toddler and baby - need 3 bedrooms

Hi Everyone,

My adult daughter took our Mom/daughter DW trips yearly - but now she has a 3 year old and a new baby coming. We're thinking late Fall, but need to 3 bedrooms. Since we always stayed at Port Orleans and shared a room, this is definitely a new adventure.

Wonder if there is an area to check if any DW Vacation Club members rent out their properties?

We really want to stay onsite, but can't really afford all separate hotel rooms.

Appreciate any advice!

Thank you!

For a Disney trip with a toddler and a new baby, needing three bedrooms, staying onsite is ideal for convenience, especially with young children. Since you’re used to sharing rooms at Port Orleans, moving to a multi-bedroom setup will require looking at Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas or larger resort suites.

Options for onsite 3-bedroom accommodations:

  • Disney Vacation Club Villas – Many DVC resorts offer 3-bedroom villas (Grand Villas) that can sleep up to 12 guests. These villas include full kitchens, living spaces, multiple bathrooms, and laundry facilities, which is very helpful with toddlers and babies. Some of the popular DVC resorts for 3-bedroom villas include:
    • Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort
    • Wilderness Lodge Villas
    • BoardWalk Villas
    • Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Deluxe Villas with Multiple Bedrooms – Even if a full Grand Villa isn’t available, some DVC properties or deluxe resorts offer two-bedroom villas plus a lock-off studio, which can serve as an extra bedroom. This setup can also accommodate 6–8 people comfortably.

Options for renting DVC points:

  • Many DVC members rent out their points through third-party websites. Reputable platforms include:
    • David’s Vacation Club Rentals
    • VRC Direct
    • DVCRentalStore
  • These rentals allow you to stay onsite at DVC resorts at a fraction of the regular cash price, often much cheaper than booking multiple hotel rooms for three adults plus children.
  • Book as early as possible, especially for late fall, because 3-bedroom villas are limited and in high demand.

Additional tips:

  • Check for amenities that help with young children: cribs, pack-n-plays, high chairs, kitchenettes for meal prep.
  • Consider proximity to parks: Resorts like Bay Lake Tower or BoardWalk Villas are close to Magic Kingdom or Epcot, reducing commuting time with small kids.
  • Verify the exact sleeping arrangements and number of bathrooms when booking, as some Grand Villas have lock-off sections that may affect privacy and convenience.
  • If flexibility allows, consider splitting the stay: one or two nights in a deluxe resort for convenience, and a few nights at a DVC villa for space and home-style amenities.

Overall, renting a 3-bedroom DVC villa through a reputable rental service is your best option for staying onsite, keeping everyone together, and having enough space for a toddler and baby while managing costs compared to booking multiple hotel rooms.
