2nd attempt and what to do?

Hi all, so this is our second attempt to go to Orlando, had initially holiday booked in April 24 and we had to cancel due to the wife falling seriously ill a week before we were due to fly. Anyway she is now on the mend and has been given the all clear to travel again. So in little over 10 days we are due to set off to Orlando. Our itinerary is a bit different as previously we were supposed to be at all stars music for 10 nights and then endless summer for 8 nights. Now we have upgraded and are 7 nights at hard rock and then 14 nights at AKL. Then we are off to other parts of the US before flying back home. The thing is we don't land into MCO until 6:15pm. So I am thinking by the time we are out of immigration, got our bags and in a taxi and checked in to the hotel could be anywhere from a few hours to 4 hours. Meaning we will get to our room to relax at about 10ish at night. We would have come from a very long flight and my wife will probably be hungry (due to maybe not eating on flight due to allergies)so at that time of the night what's out best option for dinner. Will things still be open at that time, we don't have a car hence the taxi so we can't go far. Is another choice ordering it for delivery, but not being in the US I do not really know what app to us. Any help would be appreciated.

Congratulations on your wife’s recovery and your upcoming trip! Given your late arrival into Orlando (around 10pm at the hotel), you’ll want options that are convenient, quick, and accessible without a car. Both Hard Rock Hotel and Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) are on Disney property, so the options there are somewhat limited late at night, but there are still ways to get dinner or a light snack.

Here are your best options for late-night dining at Disney hotels:

  • Resort Quick-Service / Grab-and-Go: Most Disney resorts have 24-hour or late-night markets or quick-service spots. For Hard Rock (assuming you mean Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel), there is the Beach Club Cafe or The Kitchen which may have limited late-night offerings. At AKL, the Arusha Rock Cafe and Maji Pool Bar & Grill may offer snacks and some dinner items late.
  • Hotel Room Delivery / In-Room Dining: Some Disney resorts and Universal resorts offer limited room service late into the evening. This may be an easy option after a long flight, especially with dietary restrictions.
  • Nearby Resort Lounges and Bars: Many resorts have bars or lounges with snack menus open until 11pm or midnight. These usually serve sandwiches, salads, and kid-friendly items.

If you want something off-property but still delivered to your room, the main food delivery apps in the U.S. work well and accept international cards in many cases:

  • Uber Eats: Widely used, easy to navigate, and you can track delivery in real time.
  • DoorDash: Large coverage in Orlando, many restaurants deliver late.
  • Grubhub: Another popular delivery app with options from local and chain restaurants.

Tips for ordering delivery from Disney hotels or Universal resorts:

  • Check if the app can deliver to your hotel; some hotels require you to call the front desk to accept a delivery.
  • Consider ordering from nearby hotel-area restaurants rather than deeper into the city; it will reduce delivery time.
  • Plan for a variety of options: pizza, sandwiches, or salad-based meals are often easiest for late arrivals.

Finally, it’s worth noting that after a long flight, a light meal or snack may be better than a full dinner if you’re already tired. Many travelers stop at the hotel quick-service or lounge for a sandwich, salad, or pizza to settle in and rest before a full day of vacation.
