Senda rent a car
Hi!, Has anyone used Senda company to rent a car? It seems their name is also "Car kings" (on google maps). I am looking for a reliable small company (not like the ones in the MIA airport) that might have more convenient rates. It seems Senda has everything I need for a fair price, however they ask for the 15% in advance, and not sure if I should trust.
Thanks.
Senda Rent a Car, also appearing as “Car Kings” on Google Maps, is a smaller, independent rental car company based in Florida. Many travelers look for smaller companies like this because they can offer lower rates than major airport brands and sometimes have more flexible policies. However, there are some important considerations when booking with a small company that asks for an advance deposit.
Considerations for Using Senda / Car Kings:
- Advance Payment: They request a 15% upfront payment. This is not uncommon among small rental companies, but make sure you understand their cancellation/refund policy in case your plans change.
- Reputation: Check reviews on Google, Yelp, and other travel forums. Look for consistent feedback on vehicle quality, customer service, and reliability.
- Insurance and Fees: Small companies may not include the same insurance coverage as major rental companies. Confirm exactly what is covered and if you need to purchase additional insurance.
- Pickup/Drop-off Location: Verify that the location is convenient for your travel plans, as some small companies may require off-airport pickup or have limited hours.
Tips to Protect Yourself:
- Use a credit card with purchase protection for the deposit rather than a debit card, if possible.
- Document the car’s condition with photos when you pick it up to avoid disputes about damage.
- Confirm all terms in writing, including mileage limits, fuel policies, and insurance requirements.
- Consider contacting them directly to verify that the 15% deposit is standard and not a red flag; legitimate small companies often ask for partial deposits to secure the booking.
Alternative Options:
- Other small rental companies in the Miami area that have good reputations include Fox Rent A Car, Sixt off-airport locations, and Advantage Rent a Car. They sometimes offer comparable rates and promotions without requiring a large upfront payment.
In summary, Senda / Car Kings can be a reliable option if you carefully verify the company’s reputation, understand the deposit and insurance policies, and take precautions to protect yourself. Many travelers have used small companies successfully, but it is always wise to do extra due diligence when dealing with lesser-known providers.
