3 Days in Sedona? Suggestions?

Couples getaway- in February- never been to Sedona Arizona- will be driving from LA-

Want a quiet place to stay with views, prefer one that DOES NOT cater to pets or kids... just saying we want something clean, nice views, romantic and not in the crazy expensive range--

Have considered an Airbnb but not sure I need or want a kitchen since Sedona should have some good restaurants- I know nothing really about the area- I tend to visit places with oceans but FL and Keys seem a bit far and pricey right now-- so Sedona looks to be of interest at least-

Thank you for any suggestions- and if another city in Arizona- aside from Phoenix (no) or Grand Canyon (no) might check the boxes please suggest- thank you

For a romantic 3-day couples getaway in Sedona in February, you can find quiet, scenic lodging and enjoy the natural beauty, hiking, and local dining without the crowds. Sedona has many options that cater to adults rather than families or pets, particularly if you avoid large resorts.

Accommodation Suggestions:

  • Mid-range inns and boutique hotels: Look for properties along Airport Road or Boynton Canyon that offer red rock views and a peaceful atmosphere, such as the Orchards Inn or Poco Diablo Resort. These are often quiet, clean, and reasonably priced without being overly luxurious.
  • Airbnbs or VRBO: Consider private cabins or casitas tucked into the hills with views of the red rocks. Opt for listings that specifically mention adult-oriented stays, no pets, and serene locations.
  • Alternative locations: If you want something slightly off the main tourist areas, consider staying near Oak Creek Canyon for quiet surroundings but still easy access to Sedona restaurants and trails.

Things to Do in 3 Days:

  • Hiking & Scenic Spots: Try Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and Doe Mountain for moderate hikes with incredible views. If you prefer shorter walks, the Airport Mesa Loop offers panoramic vistas.
  • Vortex & Spiritual Spots: Even if you’re not into spiritual tourism, visiting the famous Sedona vortexes such as Boynton Canyon or Airport Mesa can be a unique experience and offer scenic viewpoints.
  • Relaxing Drives & Photo Ops: Take the Red Rock Scenic Byway (SR 179) and Oak Creek Canyon Drive for leisurely drives with stops for photos or short walks.
  • Dining: Sedona has excellent restaurants; consider Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, The Hudson, or Elote Café for local and upscale southwestern cuisine. Many places have outdoor seating with views, perfect for a romantic meal.
  • Optional Activities: Spa treatments or hot air balloon rides are available for couples seeking relaxation and adventure without children around.

Tips for Your Stay:

  • February weather can be cool, especially in the mornings and evenings, so dress in layers for hiking and outdoor activities.
  • Booking early helps ensure you get a room with views and in quieter areas, especially since pet-free/adult-only accommodations are limited.
  • While Sedona is the primary destination in Arizona for scenic desert beauty and quiet romance, alternatives like Prescott or Jerome exist, but they lack the iconic red rock scenery and abundance of trails.

Overall, Sedona offers a compact, scenic, and romantic destination with plenty of hiking, dining, and relaxation options. With thoughtful lodging selection and a mix of moderate outdoor activities, you can have a memorable 3-day escape without needing a kitchen or family-focused amenities.
