What to do before Golden Tiki happy hour

Hi, first time visit with my family coming up. We have reservation at the Golden Tiki for happy hour at 4:30pm and then tickets to the Sphere for 7pm. Is there anything to see and do near the GT before or after (not much time after) ? I'm not familiar with that area. TIA!!

It sounds like you have a fun itinerary planned! The Golden Tiki is located off the Strip, in a more local area of Las Vegas, so there are definitely things to explore nearby before or after your happy hour and your visit to The Sphere. Here are a few suggestions to consider:

Before your happy hour reservation, you have a bit of time to explore the area around The Golden Tiki, and even a few nearby attractions:

  • The Neon Museum: If you have time before your reservation, this museum is only a short drive away and offers a fascinating look at vintage Las Vegas neon signs. It's a great way to experience the history of the city in a visually stunning outdoor setting.
  • Fremont Street Experience: Located not too far from the Golden Tiki, Fremont Street offers an exciting mix of old-school Vegas and modern entertainment. You can take a quick stroll to check out the neon lights, street performers, and the famous Viva Vision light show on the overhead canopy.
  • Vegas Vic & Other Neon Signs: While you're at Fremont Street, be sure to check out the iconic Vegas Vic, a giant neon cowboy sign. It's an iconic piece of Las Vegas history and great for photos!
  • The Mob Museum: A short drive from Golden Tiki, the Mob Museum offers a fascinating, interactive history of organized crime in the U.S. It’s informative and fun for all ages, making it an interesting option if you have a little time before heading to the Sphere.

After your Golden Tiki happy hour, since you have tickets to The Sphere at 7:00 PM, you won’t have a lot of time to wander, but here are a few ideas that are in the vicinity:

  • Check out The Sphere: If you arrive a little early, you could take a few minutes to marvel at the architecture of The Sphere itself. It’s quite a spectacle, both inside and out, and worth a quick look before your show starts.
  • T-Mobile Arena: If you have a couple of minutes after the happy hour, you could swing by the T-Mobile Arena, located nearby. Depending on your timing, there might be an event or just the chance to see the exterior of one of Vegas' most popular venues for concerts and sports events.
  • Dining and Drinks at The Venetian: If you find yourself with a few minutes to spare, you can head over to The Venetian for a scenic gondola ride or enjoy a quick bite at one of their restaurants. The resort is also home to some beautiful architecture and canals that give you a taste of Venice in Las Vegas.

Just make sure to keep an eye on the time, as you'll want to ensure you get to The Sphere by 7:00 PM for your tickets. Enjoy your trip to Las Vegas!
