Hotel at Guangzhou Airport where I can stay at without Visa
Hi there,
My parents have a connecting flight to Sydney through Guangzhou and they have a layover of around 16 hours at the airport. Is there a hotel at the airport where they can stay without requiring a Visa? They need a place to rest and lay down and get some sleep.
I'm from Pakistan and my country is not in the list of the eligible countries who can get a free transvit visa for 24 or 144 hours on arrival as stated on https://www.csair.com/en/tourguide/transit_flow/flightsTwo_hub/24_hour_stay/
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has a few options for passengers who need to rest during a long layover without leaving the airport, which is particularly helpful for travelers who are not eligible for China’s transit visas.
Airport Hotels and Transit Options:
- Silk Sleep Pod / Airport Transit Hotels: Inside the terminals, there are transit hotels or sleeping pods where passengers can rest without passing through immigration. These are generally available in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
- Inside-Terminal Hotel: The airport features the Baiyun Airport Hotel, which is located within the transit area for international flights. This hotel allows passengers to stay without a Chinese visa as long as they remain in the international transit area.
- Sleeping Lounges / Capsule Hotels: Some terminals have capsule-style sleeping pods or lounges that can be rented for several hours. These are convenient for short naps and are accessible from the transit area without visa requirements.
Additional Tips:
- Make a reservation in advance, as these transit hotels or pods can fill up, especially during busy travel periods.
- Confirm with the hotel that your parents do not need to pass through immigration, to avoid any issues since Pakistani nationals are not eligible for the 24-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit.
- Keep luggage with the airlines’ transit services if checking through to Sydney, so your parents can move directly to the transit hotel without carrying baggage through customs.
In summary, your parents can rest at the Baiyun Airport Hotel or use transit sleeping pods within the terminals without requiring a visa. This provides a safe and convenient way to get sleep and refresh before continuing their flight to Sydney.
