Need Help, Arrive in Guangzhou at 1.30 AM
Hi Everyone, this is my first time go to Guangzhou, I have read some of the topics here but need some insight:
1. Is there any airport bus service after midnight?
2. Is there any close hotel near the airport except Pullman hotel?
3. I have found a capsule hotel services in the airport, is that good?
Arriving in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) at 1:30 AM means you’ll be landing after most public transport has stopped operating for the night. However, there are still several practical options available depending on your budget and how you want to rest before heading into the city.
1. Airport bus service after midnight
- Most airport shuttle buses stop running around midnight, but there are a few late-night or 24-hour routes available depending on your arrival terminal. For example, some lines to central Guangzhou or major districts like Haizhu or Tianhe may still have limited departures until around 2:00 AM.
- If you arrive at 1:30 AM, it’s possible you may catch the last shuttle if immigration and luggage collection are quick. Otherwise, you’ll likely need to take a taxi or use an app-based ride service (such as Didi).
- Taxis are readily available outside the arrival halls at all hours and are the most convenient option during late-night arrivals. A taxi to downtown Guangzhou (Tianhe or Yuexiu) costs roughly CNY 120–150 and takes around 40–50 minutes with light traffic.
2. Hotels near the airport (besides the Pullman)
- Frida Hotels Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport – Located just a few minutes’ drive away, this hotel provides free 24-hour airport shuttle service and is popular among late-night travelers.
- AOHUI Hotel – Also close to the airport with free pick-up and drop-off. Rooms are basic but clean, ideal for a short rest.
- Vienna Hotel Guangzhou Airport – Around 5–10 minutes away by car, this is a mid-range option offering comfortable rooms and breakfast service.
- All these hotels can be booked through common travel apps like Trip.com or Booking.com and often provide confirmation in English.
3. Capsule hotel inside the airport
- The Baiyun Airport capsule hotel, also called “Air Hotel” or “Sleeping Cabin,” is located in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, near the departure area.
- These capsules are small but clean, air-conditioned, and provide privacy with a curtain or door. You’ll also find lockers, showers, and basic amenities like USB charging ports and Wi-Fi.
- Rates are typically charged by the hour (around CNY 100–150 for a 4-hour rest) or per night for longer stays. They are ideal for travelers arriving very late or departing early in the morning who don’t want to leave the airport.
- Many passengers find them comfortable for short rests, but the space is limited, so it’s not ideal for large luggage or extended stays.
In summary, for a 1:30 AM arrival, the most convenient choices are staying in the airport capsule hotel or booking a nearby airport hotel with free shuttle service. Late-night transport into the city is limited, so unless you prefer a taxi ride immediately, resting near the airport until morning is usually the best option.
