old town lodging with parking
Were planning a trip in mid Nov. Weve been to KW about 10 years ago. we plan to fly into Ft Lauderdale and drive down, stay about 3 days then drive back. Dont really want to fly into KW, want to do an airboat ride on the way back and maybe a stop or two in the other keys.
We want to stay in old town, within 5-6 blocks of mallory square. We know once we get there well park the car and not use it again until we leave. Last time we stayed at Curry mansion, and it was great but we understand its gone downhill. Since we will have a car, where is a good place to stay that will have guaranteed parking? Reading the info on some of the BnBs they dont have a guaranteed parking spot. Were looking at the Marker, but were open to other ideas.
It sounds like you’re planning a fantastic trip to Key West! Staying in Old Town with parking can be a bit tricky, especially since Key West is a small, pedestrian-friendly area and parking can be limited. However, there are a few places in Old Town with guaranteed parking where you can comfortably leave your car for your stay. Here are some options to consider:
- The Marker Key West - As you mentioned, The Marker is a great option. Located in the heart of Old Town, it's within walking distance of Mallory Square and other popular attractions. They offer guaranteed parking, which is a huge bonus, as parking is typically a premium in this area. The Marker is a modern, upscale property with a relaxing pool and great amenities, making it a solid choice for your stay.
- Hemingway Home and Museum Bed & Breakfast - While this is a smaller, more intimate option, it is in a prime location just a few blocks from Mallory Square. They do offer guaranteed parking spaces for guests, which can be a rare find in Old Town. It’s a more traditional Key West-style property with charm and character, though parking space is limited, so be sure to inquire in advance.
- Southernmost Beach Resort - Another great option if you want something a bit more resort-style. Located near the southernmost point, it’s a little further from Mallory Square (about a 10-minute walk), but it offers guaranteed parking, along with plenty of amenities like a beach, pool, and restaurant. It’s a larger property, so there’s more availability for parking.
- Key West Harbor Inn - This boutique hotel is within walking distance of Mallory Square and offers guaranteed parking for guests. It’s a charming property with beautiful rooms and a more personal touch, and while it’s on the smaller side, it’s well-located for a peaceful stay in Old Town without the stress of finding parking.
- Pier House Resort & Spa - Located right on the water near Mallory Square, Pier House Resort offers guaranteed parking and provides easy access to Old Town. It’s a bit more luxurious and offers a variety of amenities, including a spa and restaurants. You’ll be just a short walk to the action, with the added convenience of a reliable parking space.
Since parking in Old Town Key West is at a premium, it’s definitely a good idea to call ahead and confirm parking availability when booking your stay. The properties listed above are known to have guaranteed parking, but some of the smaller BnBs and guesthouses may not always offer that, which can add a layer of uncertainty during your stay.
