Hello,
I am planning a trip to Xinjiang and Tibet for July/August. I will need to reach Lhasa from Kashgar or Urumqi and think that flying is the best option. Would you please recommend any sites, either Western or Chinese, where I can check airplane tickets? Apparently the usual websites (Kayak, Skyscanner, etc.) do not report any result.
Many thanks for your support.
Flying from Xinjiang (Kashgar or Urumqi) to Lhasa is indeed the fastest and most practical option, especially during July and August when overland travel is long and high-altitude roads can be challenging. However, international flight search engines often do not show domestic Chinese flights, which is why you may not see results on Kayak or Skyscanner.
1. Recommended websites and apps to check tickets
2. Tips for booking
In summary, using Chinese domestic travel platforms like Ctrip, Qunar, or Fliggy, or booking directly with airlines such as Air China, China Southern, or China Eastern, is the most reliable way to find flights from Kashgar or Urumqi to Lhasa. International flight aggregators often do not show these routes, so local platforms are necessary for planning your trip.
