Multiple destinations on Chinese Visa Application

Hello,

I am filling out my Chinese Visa application and am visiting quite a few cities but after adding a couple of them there is no longer an option to add more. What shall I do as there is now a gap between the last city and my departure date.

Thank you!!

When filling out the Chinese visa application, it’s common to run into the limit of cities you can list. The online form usually has a fixed number of fields for destinations, which can be restrictive for multi-city itineraries.

Here’s what you can do:

  • If you cannot add all cities, list the main destinations or the cities where you will spend the most time. Minor stops or day trips can be omitted.
  • For the gap between your last listed city and departure date, you can simply indicate your final city before leaving China. Immigration authorities are usually more concerned about entry and exit points than minor internal travel.
  • Alternatively, you can attach a separate travel itinerary document when submitting your visa application. Many embassies and consulates accept a PDF or Word file detailing your full multi-city travel plan. Mention in the application that additional details are provided in the attached itinerary.

Additional tips:

  • Ensure the cities listed in the visa form match your hotel bookings if required.
  • For long internal travel gaps, it’s sufficient to note your primary destinations; detailed local travel within a province does not need to be itemized.
  • If you are unsure, contact the Chinese visa center where you plan to submit your application. They can confirm whether your approach is acceptable.

In summary, focus on listing main destinations, use an attached itinerary for additional cities, and ensure your final city aligns with your exit from China. This approach is widely used by travelers with multi-city trips.
