Yosemite in 2 days

Staying in airb and b in oakhurst Ca. and have afternoon of June 4, the 5th and part of the 6th so essentially 2 days. Any ideas? We will hike easy trails.

With a base in Oakhurst, you have convenient access to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park, making it feasible to enjoy highlights over 2 days with easy hiking trails. Since your schedule includes an afternoon on June 4, a full day on June 5, and part of June 6, you can focus on the most scenic, accessible areas.

Day 1 – Afternoon Arrival (June 4):

  • Enter the park via the South Entrance and drive up to Yosemite Valley.
  • Stop at Tunnel View for the classic panorama of El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, and Half Dome.
  • Walk the short Bridalveil Fall Trail (0.5 miles round trip) to see the waterfall up close.
  • Consider a casual stroll in Yosemite Valley floor, like the Lower Yosemite Fall Trail (1 mile loop, paved and easy).
  • Return to Oakhurst for overnight.

Day 2 – Full Day in Yosemite (June 5):

  • Arrive early at Glacier Point for breathtaking views of Half Dome, Yosemite Valley, and High Sierra peaks.
  • Take the easy Taft Point & Sentinel Dome loop (2.2 miles, moderate but mostly flat, stunning views).
  • Return to Yosemite Valley for a leisurely Mirror Lake Trail walk (2 miles round trip, mostly flat, great for reflections of Half Dome).
  • Drive to Cook’s Meadow Loop (1 mile, flat, paved) for iconic views of Yosemite Falls.
  • Lunch at Yosemite Valley or bring a picnic to enjoy in the meadows.

Day 3 – Morning (June 6):

  • If time allows, do the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias near Wawona. The Big Trees Loop (0.3 miles) is an easy introduction to the massive sequoias, or the Grizzly Giant Loop (2 miles) for a slightly longer walk.
  • Depart Yosemite by late morning to return to Oakhurst or continue your journey.

Tips for your trip:

  • Arrive early to avoid parking crowds, especially at Glacier Point and Yosemite Valley popular trailheads.
  • Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.
  • Check for any shuttle services inside Yosemite Valley to minimize walking if desired.
  • Consider packing snacks or a picnic, as dining options in the park can be limited and busy.

With this plan, you’ll get classic views of Yosemite, easy hikes that showcase waterfalls, meadows, and giant sequoias, while keeping the pace relaxed and enjoyable for 2 full days.
