Safe to take overnight Flixbus from SJ to LA?

My family is planning to travel from San Jose to LA with an overnight bus (Flixbus). Is it safe to be on an overnight bus? Can we sleep on the bus?

We're travelling with two kids so just don't want to have any bad/uncomfortable experience for the kids?
