Planning a long weekend trip to Orlando with my 26 year old son. We either need to adjoining rooms or a 2 bedroom suite. Would like a hotel that has a great pool, maybe even a lazy river, plenty of options for dining and just places he can explore on his own but we can also do together. Likely we will go to Discovery Cove one day but otherwise stay at the resort and not rent a car. More concerned with finding a suitable place versus the cost. Thank you! :)
For a long weekend in Orlando with a 26-year-old son, you’ll want a resort that offers spacious accommodations, a variety of dining options, and plenty of on-site activities so you can enjoy your stay without renting a car. Since you are considering adjoining rooms or a two-bedroom suite, here are some excellent options that focus on amenities, pool/lazy river features, and overall experience rather than cost.
Luxurious resort with spacious two-bedroom suites and connecting room options. The pool area includes a lazy river, water slides, and a splash zone. Multiple on-site restaurants offer casual and fine dining. Spa and fitness facilities are available, and the resort is well-located for Discovery Cove excursions. Great for relaxing together or letting your son explore Disney Springs or the pool area independently.
Offers large two-bedroom suites and connecting rooms in a family-friendly environment. The resort has a sprawling pool area with a themed water slide, and while it doesn’t have a full lazy river, it has multiple leisure pools. On-site dining options include quick service, sit-down restaurants, and bars. Convenient access to theme parks and Disney Springs via complimentary transportation.
Adjoining rooms and suites are available. The resort features a lagoon-style pool, a small lazy river-style area, and multiple dining options including character breakfasts. Located within walking distance of Universal CityWalk, which allows your son to explore independently while you enjoy resort amenities. Shuttle service to Universal theme parks is included.
Family resort with two-bedroom villa options. The highlight is a large pool complex with a lazy river, water slides, and themed pirate ship area. Multiple dining options on-site and nearby. The resort is more self-contained, making it easy to enjoy the property without needing transportation.
Offers spacious multi-bedroom villas with full kitchens. Features several pools including a lazy river and water slides. Multiple on-site dining options and activities like mini-golf, bike rentals, and golf. Great for families who want a full resort experience in one place.
Additional Considerations:
Overall, if the priority is a luxurious, relaxing experience with a lazy river and easy access to Discovery Cove, Four Seasons Resort Orlando or Reunion Resort are excellent choices. If you want a more entertainment-focused stay with the ability for your son to explore independently, Loews Royal Pacific at Universal or Coronado Springs are strong contenders.
