MCO To Rosen plaza Hotel
Hi guys ...is lyft or uber my best option to get from MCO to our hotel ..it will be a Sunday night around 9pm and 3 adults ...priced it up and it's looking at around $40 before tip one way ...any cheaper alternatives ?
Traveling from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Rosen Plaza Hotel on a Sunday night around 9pm for 3 adults gives you a few transportation options. Uber and Lyft are indeed convenient and direct, and the price you mentioned (~$40 before tip) is typical for this roughly 18–20 minute, 15–20 mile ride depending on traffic.
Options to consider:
- Uber or Lyft: Most straightforward. No waiting for schedules, door-to-door service, and reasonably priced for a small group. If you have Uber Pool or Lyft Shared available, sometimes you can save a few dollars, though late evening options may be limited.
- Airport Shuttle Services: Some companies offer shared shuttle rides from MCO to downtown hotels. Examples include Mears Shuttle and Prime Time Shuttle. Costs are usually around $20–$25 per person, so for 3 people it could be comparable or slightly cheaper than Uber/Lyft, but it takes longer because of multiple hotel stops.
- Rental Car: Not cost-effective for a single overnight stay, but if you plan to use a car during your visit, renting might make sense. Remember parking fees at the hotel.
- Public Transportation: Lynx bus service is available, but late evening schedules are limited and would involve transfers. Not ideal for a Sunday night arrival with luggage.
Recommendation:
- Given the convenience, door-to-door service, and late Sunday night arrival, Uber or Lyft is likely your best option for a stress-free transfer.
- If you are looking to save a little, check shared airport shuttles, but factor in extra travel time for other stops along the route.
Tip: If you have any loyalty programs with ride-share apps or credit card offers, you might be able to save a few dollars on this ride.
