Girls trip Within a 2 to 3 Hour Dr. of Green Valley

I posted something similar in the Tucson forum so I apologize if you guys are seeing this twice. I couldn't figure out how to edit it so I'm trying again with different criteria. my girlies and I are looking for a resort/destination/inn ?? somewhere within a 2 - 3 hour drive from Green Valley - any direction but not Mexico, we don't want to leave the country, that we can go play for two or three days. Definitely do not want to be in a metropolitan area, but not so far away that the drive from Green Valley will do us in. can anybody please make recommendations?

For a girls’ trip within a 2–3 hour drive from Green Valley, Arizona, there are several relaxing and scenic destinations that avoid metropolitan areas while offering opportunities for leisure, spa treatments, hiking, and unique experiences. Here’s a detailed guide:

1. Tubac, AZ

  • Tubac Golf Resort & Spa: Historic resort with a full-service spa, golf, and nearby art galleries. Tubac has a charming village feel with boutique shops and restaurants.
  • Tubac Country Inn: Smaller, cozy option with easy access to local art and nature walks.
  • Activities include hiking in nearby trails, exploring the art colony, and enjoying local wine tasting.

2. Sonoita / Elgin Wine Country

  • Spirit Ridge Vineyard & Winery: Wine tasting with beautiful desert landscapes; consider staying at nearby boutique inns or rentals.
  • Inn at Sonoita: Comfortable lodging surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills.
  • Activities: Wine tasting tours, scenic drives, picnics among vineyards, and photography of desert landscapes.

3. Patagonia / Sonoita Lake Area

  • Patagonia Guest Ranches: Options for rustic but comfortable stays; some offer horseback riding and guided nature tours.
  • Activities: Birdwatching at Patagonia Lake, hiking in Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve, and visiting local artisan shops.

4. Mount Lemmon / Santa Catalina Mountains

  • Sky Valley Lodge or rentals near Summerhaven: Elevated, cooler destination with cabins and small inns.
  • Activities: Scenic drives, hiking trails of varying difficulty, nature photography, and even small cafes in Summerhaven for relaxed meals.

Tips for Planning:

  • Book lodging early, especially if your trip falls on weekends or holidays.
  • Check the availability of spa treatments or tours if that is a priority for the group.
  • Consider a mix of activity levels; some days can be relaxing with wine tasting or spa, and others can be light hiking or nature walks.
  • Pack for a range of temperatures, especially if you go to Mount Lemmon or other higher-elevation areas which can be cooler than Green Valley.

These destinations provide a combination of relaxation, outdoor beauty, and boutique experiences, perfect for a short girls’ getaway within easy driving distance of Green Valley.
