Xian

Hello i going to xian and i would like to know if its possible to go to Huaqing hotspring. Does anyone know if i can go in the hotspring. I send them an email but I didn't get a respond. Also will it be possible to visit the worriers in the morning and go to Huaqing please?

Thank you in advance.

Visiting Xi’an and combining the Terracotta Warriors with Huaqing Hot Springs in one day is possible, but it requires careful planning due to the distance and the time each site requires.

Regarding the Huaqing Hot Springs:

  • Yes, it is open to visitors, and there are designated bathing areas. However, the hot springs are now a tourist attraction and some pools may be for display only or require additional fees.
  • Not all areas may be accessible for swimming, and sometimes special bathing areas require prior booking. Since you emailed without response, you can also try contacting local tour operators in Xi’an who can confirm access or arrange a private visit.

Visiting both sites in one day:

  • The Terracotta Warriors are located about 40 km east of Xi’an city center, roughly 1–1.5 hours by car or taxi.
  • Huaqing Hot Springs are adjacent to the Terracotta site (about 5–10 minutes by car). This makes it feasible to visit the Warriors in the morning and then go to Huaqing Hot Springs afterwards.
  • It is recommended to start early at the Terracotta Warriors, spend 2–3 hours exploring, and then head to Huaqing Hot Springs in late morning or early afternoon.

Tips for a smooth visit:

  • Consider hiring a private taxi or driver for the day. This allows flexibility to move quickly between the sites and avoid public transport delays.
  • Bring snacks, water, and sunscreen, as both sites involve outdoor walking.
  • Check the Huaqing Hot Springs ticketing in advance; online booking may be available and can guarantee entry if some pools require reservation.

In summary, yes, it is possible to do both in one day, especially if you start early and use private transportation. Swimming or bathing may be limited depending on the season and current regulations, so confirm locally before planning to enter the water.
