Lunch with a view
Hello! Looking for lunch recommendations for a group of 6 ladies, would love to be along the river, downtown or somewhere with a view. Hoping for a casual place, some in the group don’t eat meat so need vegetarian options please. Early October and we will do some light hiking in the morning. Patio if possible and pleasant out. Thank you!
Estes Park offers several great spots for a casual lunch with a view, especially in early October when the weather can still be pleasant for outdoor dining. For a group of six ladies, you’ll want places that offer scenic patios or views along the river and downtown, with vegetarian options available.
Some recommended options include:
- The Wild Rose Restaurant: Located along the Big Thompson River, this spot has a lovely patio with river views. They offer a mix of American cuisine, including vegetarian-friendly dishes like salads, pasta, and vegetable-based entrees. Casual, friendly atmosphere.
- Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ & Brew: While famous for BBQ, they have vegetarian options like salads, grilled veggie sandwiches, and sides. Their patio provides outdoor seating with a nice view of the surrounding area, perfect for a relaxed lunch after a morning hike.
- Claire’s on the Park: Centrally located downtown with outdoor seating overlooking a small park area. Offers sandwiches, salads, and vegetarian-friendly plates. Casual vibe and easy for a group to gather.
Additional options worth considering:
- Rock Inn Mountain Tavern: Cozy mountain tavern with a patio and casual fare. Vegetarian options include salads, veggie burgers, and sides. Nice rustic atmosphere along with some mountain views.
- Bird & Jim: Slightly more upscale casual, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Vegetarian options include seasonal vegetable dishes and creative salads. Limited outdoor seating, but the setting and view of the town and nearby mountains are excellent.
- Ed’s Cantina & Eatery: Mexican-inspired menu with patios and outdoor seating. Plenty of vegetarian-friendly options such as bean, cheese, and veggie tacos or enchiladas. Casual and fun for groups.
For early October, check the weather and call ahead if you want a patio table, as it can still be sunny and crisp but potentially cool in the mountains. Arriving slightly earlier than peak lunch hours can ensure seating with a view and a relaxed experience for your group after a morning hike.
