Mariposa patio in November?

Hi all! I was making a reservation for early November for dinner, maybe sunset. Patio is an option and some days are booked. I just assumed it would be too cold but maybe they have heaters? So would you book patio or inside? And if inside, do we need to even worry about going for sunset (since it’s early)? Thank you!!!

Mariposa in Sedona is well-known for its stunning views, and many visitors love dining on the patio to take in the red rock scenery, especially around sunset. In early November, Sedona evenings can be cool, with temperatures often ranging from the mid-50s to low 60s Fahrenheit around sunset.

The good news is that Mariposa provides outdoor heaters on the patio, so sitting outside can still be comfortable if you dress in layers. A light jacket or sweater is recommended, and if you tend to get cold easily, consider a warmer layer or shawl.

Here are some points to consider when deciding between patio or indoor seating:

  • Patio seating: Offers the iconic views of the red rocks and sunset. Heaters are available, but it can still be a bit chilly in November. Booking a patio spot ensures you can enjoy the scenery during the magical sunset hour.
  • Indoor seating: Cozy and warm, ideal if you prefer comfort over views. While the view isn’t as expansive indoors, some tables may have partial sightlines to the rocks, especially near windows.
  • Sunset timing: In early November, sunset occurs around 5:15–5:30 PM. If you book indoor seating, you may still catch glimpses of sunset if you choose a window table, but patio guarantees the full experience.

Recommendations:

  • If experiencing the red rocks and sunset is a priority, go for the patio and dress warmly. The heaters make it quite comfortable.
  • If you prefer a fully warm and cozy meal without worrying about layers, indoor seating is fine. You could also request a window table for some views.
  • Reservations are strongly recommended either way, as Mariposa is very popular, especially around sunset hours.

Overall, many visitors choose the patio even in cooler months because the combination of heaters and layering makes it enjoyable, and the views are well worth it.
