Arabella or Sky Ranch
Hi, I have narrowed my hotel search to either Arabella or Sky Ranch in Sedona as they are both around the same price. Has anyone recently stayed at either one of these hotels? I was planning on Sky Ranch but then I read there are weddings every weekend which may cause the beautiful patio to be closed for the evening. I do like the proximity of Arabella to some shopping and restaurants although Sky Ranch has a shuttle. Thanks in advance!
Both Arabella and Sky Ranch are well-regarded options in Sedona, and each has its own strengths depending on what you want from your stay.
Arabella:
- Located closer to Uptown Sedona, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and art galleries.
- Offers spacious rooms with views of the red rocks, but some may be a bit dated compared to newer properties.
- Generally quieter than Sky Ranch since it doesn’t host frequent events like weddings.
- Good choice if you prioritize proximity to dining and casual walking access to local attractions.
Sky Ranch:
- Perched on a hilltop with panoramic red rock views from nearly every room and from the patio area.
- Has a shuttle service, which is convenient if you want to avoid driving in Sedona’s hilly areas.
- Known for hosting weddings and events on weekends, which can temporarily restrict access to patios or common areas in the evenings.
- Excellent choice if your priority is scenic views and a more resort-like atmosphere, but evenings may be less private on busy weekends.
Summary Recommendation:
- If proximity to shopping and restaurants is a higher priority, Arabella is likely the better fit.
- If panoramic views and a more scenic, resort-style stay matter most, and you don’t mind occasional wedding activity, Sky Ranch is a great choice.
- Consider checking with Sky Ranch about your specific dates to see if weddings are booked and whether patio access will be affected.
Ultimately, both properties offer comfortable accommodations; the decision comes down to whether you value walkable convenience versus views and resort amenities.
