Sunset

Where would be a nice place to watch a beautiful sunset? I take the ten-minute drive down to the beach for sunrises but haven't found a nice sunset location.

West Palm Beach offers several beautiful spots to catch a sunset, particularly along the Intracoastal Waterway and nearby waterfront areas. Since you already enjoy sunrises at the beach, consider locations that face west or offer unobstructed views over the water or skyline for the best sunset experience.

Some popular and scenic options include:

  • Peanut Island: Just a short boat ride or drive from West Palm Beach, Peanut Island has open waterfront areas and picnic spots where you can watch the sun set over the Intracoastal Waterway.
  • Clematis Street and the Waterfront Commons Park: Right downtown, this park offers a nice mix of cityscape and water views. The sunsets here are lovely with reflections over the water.
  • Flagler Drive along the Intracoastal: Drive or park along Flagler Drive to find benches and small parks where you can see the sun dipping behind the skyline and water.

For a more natural setting with fewer crowds, consider these spots slightly outside the city:

  • Lake Worth Lagoon Park: Offers open views westward, perfect for sunsets over the water.
  • Okeeheelee Park: A larger park with lakes and elevated areas that allow for unobstructed sunset views, especially beautiful for photography.

Additionally, many restaurants and bars along the waterfront provide sunset views if you’d like to combine the experience with a meal or drinks. Look for places with outdoor seating facing west to maximize the sunset experience.
