🛕 Phu Khao Thong, Wat Saket, Bangkok
“344 Steps to Peace in the Heart of the City” This morning, I started my day by hiking up the Phu Khao Thong at Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan, one of Bangkok’s oldest and most beautiful landmarks. The gleaming golden chedi towers over a man-made hill, creating a feeling of being transported to another dimension of tranquility and holiness.
🌬️ Along the way, the sound of bodhi leaves tinkling in the wind and the gentle sermons of monks instilled a sense of calm. 🛎️ There are resting points with bells to ring for good luck and a small cafe, “Golden Mount Coffee,” for refreshing drinks. 🧘♂️ At the top is the Phra Borommathat mountain, home to the relics of the Lord Buddha, offering breathtaking 360° views of Bangkok.
Looking for a place to recharge or enjoy a city view without having to climb a tall building? Here's the answer.
