Monsopiad Cultural Village provides an essential historical context for visiting Sabah that you won't find anywhere else. The location beside the Moyog River is scenic, and the history is captivating. However, the experience felt a little basic for the price point. While the information from the guide was good, some of the traditional huts and exhibition areas could benefit from better maintenance and more engaging displays to truly bring the past to life. Despite this, I highly recommend it for anyone interested in headhunting legends and the authentic roots of the Kadazan-Dusun people—just manage your expectations regarding modern exhibit standards.
