The Iconic Lotus Pond and Hwallaejeong Pavilion

#hellohalloween
The most picturesque feature of Seongyojang House is undoubtedly the large artificial pond situated near the entrance. In summer, this pond is completely filled with vibrant floating lotus blooms, creating a stunning scene often compared to a traditional Korean painting. Crossing the water is the elegant Hwallaejeong Pavilion (built in 1816), which features a unique design where part of its floor protrudes over the pond, supported by stone pillars. This pavilion served as a tranquil viewing spot for guests, flawlessly blending the structure with the surrounding water garden and providing endless photo opportunities against the natural backdrop.
