[Hill of Pipila | Guanajuato's best viewing spot, where heroes and spectacular views await]
— An impressive hill where historical heroes and panoramic views come together —
Hill of Pipila is home to a statue of "El Pipila," a miner who was considered a hero in the Mexican War of Independence in 1810.
The statue holding a burning torch on top of the hill is the symbol of this spot, named after the legend of him burning open the door of a warehouse called an "alhondiga" with stones and tar.
From the observation deck, you can get a 360-degree view of the city, with its red and yellow houses crowded into the valley, and at dusk the city lights come on, making for a breathtaking view both during the day and at night.
