[Kyoto Travel Review] Real Japan at the End of a Quiet Alley

#JulyTravelSupport

It was my first time in Kyoto, but the air felt different from the moment I arrived. I got off the train and headed to Fushimi Inari Shrine. The endless rows of red torii gates made me feel like I was entering another world. There were a lot of tourists, but since I went early in the morning, it was relatively quiet.

The Arashiyama bamboo forest was as magical as a movie, and crossing the Togetsukyo Bridge felt like time stood still. Losing my mind with a cup of yuzu tea at a nearby cafe was a highlight of my trip.

Gion Street, lined with traditional hanoks (traditional Korean houses), felt like I was traveling back in time, and I was even lucky enough to encounter a maiko (geisha apprentice). In the evening, I stopped by Nishiki Market for yuzu-flavored fish cakes and yakitori, which really captured the local atmosphere.

It's quieter and slower than Tokyo, but that's part of Kyoto's charm. I recommend it to anyone looking to take a leisurely stroll for a day.
