Otaru Blue Caves Sankaku Market

Transportation:
This time I stayed in downtown Sapporo. If you're on a day trip, it's recommended to check the schedule so you can take the express bus.

Must-See Attractions:
Sankaku Market:
Next to the station, within walking distance. Because it's a tourist area, prices are moderately high. You can buy and eat on the spot. We had a hairy crab, which was very fresh and delicious.

Blue Grotto:
There are many shops along the Otaru Canal. You can visit the Blue Grotto website. Some offer reservations the day before, which is very flexible and convenient. The weather was good when we went, so we booked the night before and confirmed our reservation, leaving for Otaru the next day.

Must-Try Foods:
LeTAO, Sankaku-tei inside the market, Ice Cream

Shopping Guide:
It's recommended to buy souvenirs on the way back from the day trip, then you can board the bus directly. There are also small shops inside the station, so it's recommended to allow 30 minutes to browse.
