The day began with a walk across the Pont Alexandre III. With its golden angel statues, this bridge truly lived up to its reputation as the most beautiful in Paris. Next was Place de la Concorde, a space steeped in the history of the Revolution. Learning that it was the site of Louis XVI's execution sent chills down my spine.
Although this was my second visit to the Louvre Museum, it still left me in awe. Each piece of art told its own story, and I lost track of time in front of the 'Winged Victory of Samothrace.' For lunch, I kept it simple with a croissant and coffee at a small café near the Louvre. In the afternoon, I took a brief rest under the Eiffel Tower before heading to the Panthéon.
The interior of the Panthéon was heavy and majestic. Perhaps it was the presence of Voltaire, Rousseau, and the Curie couple resting there that made the atmosphere feel so distinct. Today reaffirmed that Paris is not just a travel destination but a living, breathing space layered with history and time.
