Basic Information

Transportation Guide
- Self-driving: From Chengdu, you can take routes such as Tianfu Avenue, with a driving time of about 1.5 hours. The scenic area has parking lots, with parking fees ranging from about 10 to 20 yuan.
- Public Transport: Take the high-speed train from Chengdu to Renshou Station, then transfer to a bus or taxi to Heilongtan Scenic Area.

- Heilongtan Reservoir Dam: The core landmark of the scenic area, where you can enjoy lake views from the dam and visit the Heilongtan Water Conservancy Project Monument.
- Bao'en Temple: Located on an island in the lake, with red walls and yellow tiles hidden among the trees. Climb to the top of the Huayan Relic Pagoda in the temple to overlook the entire Heilongtan.
- Panlong Island: Formerly Monkey Mountain, the island is home to monkeys and other animals. You can take a boat to experience the island’s natural ecology.
- San Da Wan, Penglai Island, and others: The scenic area also includes San Da Wan, Penglai Island, Qinglongzui Botanical Garden, Longyan Cliff Carvings, and stone inscriptions and paintings. You can take a boat tour to enjoy the lake and mountain scenery and island views.
Activities
- Boat Tours: The dock offers two types of boats, sightseeing boats and ferries. Sightseeing boat tickets cost about 50 yuan, with a lake tour lasting over an hour; ferry tickets are cheaper and can take you to attractions like Baoguo Temple on the opposite shore.
- Water Sports: Chaoyang UP Water Club offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and other water sports at affordable prices, suitable for families and friend group activities.
- Train Laisi Theme Park: A great place for family fun, featuring green trains, Qianxun mini trains, and various train experiences, with dining available on the trains.
Food Recommendations
- Whole Fish Feast: Heilongtan’s fish is tender and fresh. Must-try dishes include chopped chili fish head, fresh fish soup, and twice-cooked fish, available at local farmhouses or restaurants around the scenic area.
- Renshou Qinggang Whole Beef Feast: Featuring dishes from beef offal soup to spicy dried beef, showcasing the bold and lively flavors of Sichuan cuisine.
- Walnut Meat: Tender lean meat taken from the gaps in pig skull bones, resembling walnuts. Delicious in soups or cold dishes, it is a specialty of Renshou.
