Tallinn

#northerneurope

Highlights:

Tallinn met us with sea wind and storybook charm spires rising through Baltic mist, cobblestones echoing underfoot. The Old Town felt preserved, not staged: red roofs, crooked lanes, and chimneys puffing into grey skies.

Atop Toompea Hill, we looked out over a city of contrasts orthodox domes and medieval towers alongside modern silhouettes. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral loomed heavy and ornate, its bells deep as winter.

Mornings were quiet, marked by the smell of cinnamon pastries and the slow pace of locals wrapped in wool. Cafés glowed behind leaded windows, inviting us into their hush with strong coffee and soft light.

In Telliskivi, the tone shifted color splashed across warehouse walls, bikes leaned against murals, and shops brimmed with things handmade or hard to define. Tallinn’s edge wasn’t loud, just confident.

Nights fell fast and blue. Lanterns flickered on old stone, the harbor whispered cold and dark. Tallinn didn’t dazzle, but it stayed with us subtle, steady, and full of breath.
