Beijing is also beautiful in early March - 5-day tour in Beijing

  • Number of days:5 days
  • Time: March
  • Average cost: 3600 yuan
  • With whom: and friends

Beijing is definitely the most beautiful in early April, with flowers blooming, cool air, and everything is just right. However, if you go there in April, other travel plans will have to be adjusted. So we simply arranged to travel in March and go to the south of the Yangtze River in April.

Because of the traffic restrictions in Beijing, we simply flew to Beijing and rented a car from a certain place at the Capital Airport. It is indeed more convenient to have a car. When renting a car, the staff will make arrangements according to the traffic restrictions. Of course, if the time span is relatively long, it is inevitable to encounter traffic restrictions. You can choose to arrange a self-driving tour in Hebei or Tianjin on the day of the traffic restrictions, or even travel outside the Sixth Ring Road, hehe.

Day 1 Start the trip from Lama Temple

After picking up the car, of course we had to save time every day, so we went to Lama Temple immediately. The reason I came to Lama Temple is because my dad told me that when I go to Beijing, I must visit Lama Temple, it’s very famous.

I came to Lama Temple because my dad told me that when I go to Beijing, I must visit Lama Temple, it’s very famous. There are so many people here. I heard that even local Honda residents come to the Lama Temple. If you have this plan, come early. By around 12:00, everyone will be there.

For lunch, we had a spicy hot pot near the Lama Temple. It was very warm after eating. Because I'm afraid of the cold, I didn't have any flower tea ice cream. If it were summer, I would probably have had one.

In the afternoon, we sat for a while at "Tangfang Coffee" in Shichahai. If the wind is not too strong, you can sit outside in the sun. Because of the strong wind, we chose not to.

We stopped by Prince Gong's Mansion. The Treasure House was truly eye-opening. ~ We had Nanmen Shabu-shabu (Houhai branch). The lamb was tender and sauerkraut was a must. The combination of lamb and sauerkraut was absolutely delicious!!! Honestly, I really think hot pot in Beijing is something you absolutely must try; it's incredibly delicious. I told my sister about it, and she agreed.

In the evening, with nothing else to do, I went to Chen Ji Braised Small Intestines again. It was 32 yuan a portion and definitely worth a try. Back at the Beijing Xinqiao Hotel~ Oh, and the double breakfast is incredibly affordable!

Day 2 The Summer Palace and the Forbidden City in my dream

A visit to the Imperial Gardens is a must. The picturesque scenery and the Seventeen Arch Bridge are truly breathtaking. A stroll along Kunming Lake is a breeze—enter through the North Gate, exit through the East Gate, and it's all about climbing. It's said that many people come here to exercise around 5 or 6 in the morning. People living in the capital truly have it easy.

A spring breeze caresses my face, making it the perfect time for flower viewing. This morning, I entered the West Gate of the Summer Palace. As soon as you enter the west gate, the shimmering waves of Tuancheng Lake come into view. The lake, bathed in sunlight, shimmered like countless diamonds. Strolling along the lakeside, a gentle breeze rippled the surface. The water of Tuancheng Lake is crystal clear, with aquatic plants swaying beneath the surface and fish swimming among them, a truly delightful sight. The willow trees by the lake have also sprouted tender green buds, swaying gently in the breeze, adding a touch of gentle beauty to the spring scenery. Crossing the embankment connecting Tuancheng Lake and Zaojiantang Lake, I arrived at Mirror Bridge. Its simple and elegant form, its reflection in the water, resembles a beautiful painting.

Standing on the bridge, I overlooked Zaojiantang Lake. The gentle breeze rippled the water, like nature's palette, painting the surface a faint green. Peach blossoms by the lake had quietly bloomed, their delicate pink petals gleaming in the sunlight, appearing especially vibrant.

Starting from Jingqiao and walking along the West Causeway, I felt like I was transported to a fairytale. The peach blossoms along the West Causeway were in full bloom, with trees in full bloom, adorning the entire bank with a picturesque atmosphere. The fragrance of peach blossoms permeates the air, refreshing and intoxicating.

The fragrance of peach blossoms permeates the air, refreshing and intoxicating. Strolling along the West Causeway, admiring the beautiful peach blossoms, I couldn't help but recall Cui Hu's poem: "I don't know where the human face has gone, but the peach blossoms still smile in the spring breeze." At this moment, the peach blossoms bloomed in the spring breeze, as if telling me the story of spring. Continuing along the West Causeway, I arrived at Zaojiantang Lake. The waters of Zaojiantang Lake are crystal clear, and the peach blossoms by the lake and their reflections in the water complement each other, creating a beautiful scene. I followed the path along the lakeside, circling the lake clockwise.

After that we went to the Forbidden City. Before even reaching the palace gates, I saw so many patterns! A visit to the Forbidden City is a must, and the Clock and Watch Museum and the Treasure House are absolutely stunning! Below, enjoy my immersive tour of the museums—the clocks and watches are incredibly varied.

Each treasure is awe-inspiring. The ancient craftsmanship was truly remarkable. That was a time before advanced technology. Products back then were truly "handmade." Finally, here's a photo of the Listening Sound Pavilion, the plaque of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, and the roof beasts.

The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are very close. Every Chinese person who visits Tiananmen Square feels a surge of pride. Love China!

Beijing's first individually-owned restaurant - Yuebin, ordered pork elbow, stir-fried tripe, and fried rice, delicious!

Day 3: National Museum, here I come

It's certainly a visual feast. China's most iconic museum is, of course, the National Museum. No other museum can compare. The National Museum houses all sorts of exquisite, sophisticated, groundbreaking, and jaw-dropping artifacts.

If you're looking at it through a picture album, you won't get that kind of awe. So, if you have the time, you absolutely must visit the National Museum. Without further ado, here are the pictures~

I spent a total of four or five hours in the museum. If I ever have the chance to visit Beijing again, I'll definitely come back to the museum. Heading home, my feet were really sore from walking. I ordered Gong Jing Li's dry pot, a squid and shrimp combo, which was pretty good. [Actually, I wasn't full, hahaha]

After resting, I went out for another 2.5 hours of fun, hahaha, time flies when there's no worries.
