The finale of "Nothing But Thirty" has those of us in our 30s pondering how to spend the second half of our lives without regrets. After a busy day in the big city, we gradually realize in middle age that family and companionship are the driving force and light that keeps us moving forward. So this weekend, I paused and joined my family at the China World Trade Center, Beijing, atop the Forbidden City, to fully experience the metropolis we wander through every day. We chose this spot because overlooking a city offers a unique perspective on its beauty.

"Hi Fun City Within a City"! Recently, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts Beijing, along with China World Hotel, New China World Hotel, and Kerry Hotels, are launching a "Hi Fun City Within City" guest room offer in the "City Within City" shopping district, a "city within a city" within Beijing's CBD. Enjoy access to all four hotels, over 20 diverse hotel restaurants and bars, over 10,000 square meters of fitness space, and over 3,000 retail outlets. Combine your in-room dining, fitness, and entertainment experiences for an unprecedented urban weekend getaway! Upon check-in, receive a free entertainment pass for a weekend of fun within the city within the city! A sparkling wine welcome ceremony will instantly unwind from the city's strains!

Of the four hotels we chose, we ultimately chose the China World Trade Center Hotel. Simply because we wanted to experience the ultimate romance of overlooking the capital. After registering our health code on the first floor, the staff led us to the elevator. The 64th floor is the hotel reception, where we checked in. Our room was on the 73rd floor, offering a view of the Forbidden City!

The sharing meals for two at Guomao 79 have been really great lately. Not only are every dish delicious, but the portions are also huge! The BBQ platter includes Angus ribeye, Australian lamb rack, grilled king prawns, grilled cod, lobster, and a variety of grilled vegetables. It's a real treat!

Drinking red wine with the steak, you'll feel a bit tipsy! And the swaying wine glass is a great photo opportunity for this cloud-top dinner!

Wearing the first rays of dawn in the gym while sweating it out overlooking the city is such a great feeling!

After getting tipsy, I slowly walked to the room. It was pitch black and it happened to be raining in Beijing. It was my first time to see the rain from such a high altitude. I have to say that the sound insulation of the guest rooms at China World Hotel was really great. I was not disturbed by the sound of rain outside the window, but I could see the hazy lights of the city in the raindrops through the glass windows. The dots of light created a romantic atmosphere.

A cloud-based, invigorating breakfast—my highlight!

For breakfast, I chose my favorite Guomao 79, hoping to savor the morning view from the summit of Beijing. Unlike typical star-rated hotels, the buffet breakfast here is more elaborate. The outdoor area offers a buffet: choose from bread, yogurt, salad, drinks, steamed pastries, boiled eggs, fruit, and more. There's also a menu on the table, offering both Chinese and Western breakfasts to order separately, also included in the buffet. We ordered tofu pudding, fried dough sticks, and tomato noodles.

In fact, even if two people can't travel far away, as long as they can create romance, they can enjoy unique moments and beautiful scenery. The warmth of holding hands is worth countless other things in the world. So, when you can't leave your home city for a long trip, take a weekend, bring your loved one, and go on a romantic weekend city getaway. Let's have fun together in the city within the city!
