I don't know when it started, but maybe it was just a childhood dream that kept stirring, but I've always wanted to go on a spontaneous trip.
As a child, I studied under the pressure of my parents, and as an adult, I was suffocated by the pressure of work. It's embarrassing to say that at nearly 25, I haven't even traveled outside of my province.
So this summer, I made a bold decision to embark on a spontaneous trip.
Xishuangbanna, a Midsummer Dream Sets Off!
——————————————————————————————
Without hesitation, on an ordinary weekend, I bought a flight from Nanjing and headed straight to Xishuangbanna.
Our first stop was the Dai Nationality Garden.
Alas! We came here to play in the water. It would be a waste of time to come to Yunnan if we don't play in the water!
Since I missed the Dai ethnic group's most famous Water Splashing Festival, the Dai Garden is undoubtedly the best choice if I want to experience water splashing again. Since it's a solo trip, I don't really have any plans. I just go when my heart strikes. GO! GO!
Once you enter the Dai Garden, there is a large water splashing square. You don't have to worry about not bringing a basin or a change of clothes, as you can buy them here.
Dai folk clothing is super cheap. Of course, if you don't want to buy, you can rent a set and change back into your own clothes after the splashing.
It was a hearty water-splashing battle. I was drenched from head to toe. Everyone should pay attention to their belongings when splashing water. I almost lost my phone when the water was splashing. You can also have a wild disco here, and the fun is doubled while you're splashing water.
After finishing the Dai Garden in the afternoon, if you have some free time, you can visit the second stop, Manting Royal Garden.
Legend has it that when a Dai princess visited the park, her beautiful scenery captivated her soul, hence the name "Chunhuan Park," meaning "Garden of the Soul" in Dai. It is the oldest park in Xishuangbanna.
A stroll through the Imperial Garden is breathtakingly beautiful. A wide variety of rare and precious flowers can be seen throughout the garden, and the various Dai-style buildings within make for a perfect photoshoot. You'll often see groups of young women snapping photos there.
Spotted a little elf and snapped a picture. Summer in Xishuangbanna is filled with beautiful elves and fairies.
The park also features many Dai cultural performances, which are quite exciting. There are also elephant shows and elephant rides. Basically, if you've been there, you don't need to go to Wild Elephant Valley, as you don't always get to see wild elephants there.
Another highlight of Manting Park is the "Lancang-Mekong" bonfire party. Not only can you enjoy a traditional Dai buffet, but you can also watch and participate in a cultural performance. This performance brings together folk customs from the six countries along the Lancang-Mekong River Basin and the ethnic minorities who have lived there for generations.
We were so tired that day that we didn't get to experience any of this, and now we regret it so much. Friends, if you have time, make sure to experience this when you visit!
After a day of sightseeing, you'll definitely stay near Gaozhuang, where you'll find the Xingguang Night Market, Xishuangbanna's largest night market.
The Starlight Night Market is truly huge, and the kind that keeps people coming all night long. I personally experienced it: I went to the night market at 10pm, and it was still packed until after 2pm.
But to be honest, the prices at the night market are not very cheap. After all, it is very commercialized, and you can consider it tourist-level prices.
But as long as you are thick-skinned, you can bargain for the prices at most stalls. I bought a pair of woven slippers for 50 yuan, but after my persistent bargaining, the final price was 20 yuan.
The snacks in the night market are still delicious, but there are many snacks from other places in the night market. I also saw snacks from Northeast China. I heard that there are many people from Northeast China doing business in Yunnan, especially eight out of ten people doing Dai barbecue are from Northeast China. I don’t know if it’s true.
Quietly uploading a beautiful photo of myself, hehe!!! This outfit and makeup cost me nearly 500 yuan. The clothes cost 120 yuan, and the makeup cost 350 yuan.
But it's worth it. If you want to take a photo shoot, you have to pay more. It's not as good as paying a photographer to take the photos yourself for free! ! !
Later, I discovered at the night market that the paid items were indeed more attractive than the free ones. The style is so beautiful! Exotic princess! Who wouldn’t be confused by this!
After a walk around the Starlight Night Market, I concluded that there aren’t many stalls with Dai characteristics. Most of the stalls sell things that can be bought elsewhere, but the main atmosphere is a shopping experience. In addition, there are many young ladies who come out to play in the summer, and the young ladies who come to take photos are everywhere. They all have those beautiful, twinkling, and peerless faces. Just looking at them makes people linger!
Finally, after a tiring day of shopping, let's have a peacock feast from a popular online restaurant we found at the night market.
It's a good value, priced at over 100 yuan per person. The taste is average, not bad.
————————————————————————————————————,
In this life, there are always too many places to go;
Xishuangbanna, where a midsummer dream begins,
I met Xishuangbanna here this summer,
It was worth the trip! I'll come back if I have the chance!
