Here's the comparison after the tour! I spent five days in Lijiang, visiting Lijiang Old Town, Shuhe Ancient Town, Baisha Ancient Town, and Yuhu Village. Here's a ranking based on my personal experience:
1. Shuhe Ancient Town - Beautiful
Why do some people say you don't need to visit Shuhe Ancient Town? In my mind, it's the most beautiful!
Although it's commercialized to a certain extent, it still retains its ancient charm.
The streets are winding, and flowers and plants grow freely along the roadside. Unlike the artificiality of Lijiang, it has a more leisurely and wild charm.
There aren't many tourists here. Compared to the crowds in Lijiang Old Town, this place is much more comfortable!
Key points! The must-see attractions in Shuhe Ancient Town are: Rose Road, Nine Tripod Dragon Pond, and Flying Flowers Touching the Water
The section from Qiangwei Road to Jiuding Longtan is especially beautiful. There are many children sitting on the roadside sketching.
Because the road is a bit hidden and not crowded, it is even more quiet and comfortable. If possible, I would like to stay here for a month!
Delicious food hidden in a corner of Shuhe Ancient Town!
Environment: A small courtyard in the center of Shuhe Ancient Town, with flowers, plants, and fish swimming in the pond.
Service: Business is very good, and you need to queue, but the service is polite and thoughtful, much better than several other popular restaurants in Shuhe.
I ordered a few dishes according to everyone's recommendations, and I didn't disappoint. The Pu'er Tea Braised Pork is the most recommended, it's delicious and has a great taste!
The pineapple rice would be better if it was a little more glutinous~
Recommended~
2. Yuhu Village - a quaint and primitive village closest to the snow-capped mountains
Located at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, you can see the entire snow-capped mountain when you look up.
There are lawns, a small lake, cattle and horses here, and the view is very broad. It really has a bit of the flavor of Altay.
The village is very pristine, and the houses are all built of stone.
You won't find a street selling small commodities here, only small stalls set up by villagers selling fruits and food.
There are also some small restaurants and coffee shops where you can sit and listen to music and daydream, away from the hustle and bustle. It feels great!
3. Lijiang Ancient Town - Bustling, crowded small commodity street
Especially at night, you're almost squeezed to move forward...
But although it is the most commercialized, it has to be said to be the most prosperous ancient town. The flowers blooming on the roadside are so attractive, and there are many choices for food and drink. It should be worth a visit, but for me, one visit is enough (the noise makes my head hurt)
4. Baisha Ancient Town - Indifferent
The ancient town closest to the snow-capped mountains, where you can see the snow-capped mountains up close from many locations
But my personal feeling is that it is not as prosperous as Lijiang Old Town, not as beautiful as Shuhe Ancient Town, and not as quaint as Yuhu Village.
Of course, traveling is a very subjective experience.
If you have time, you can go and visit all of them. You might get a different feeling~
