Shuhe Ancient Town

October 17th: "Wandering Through the Ancient Town, Feeling the Gentle Years"

Arrived at Lijiang Station around 1:00 PM, and the B&B arranged an airport pick-up (at my own expense). This was my second time in Lijiang, following 2019.

Having previously stayed at the GHBZL Inn in Shuhe Ancient Town, which was perfectly adequate, I made reservations again with the proprietress, Sister Yan. However, we stayed at her newest inn, the Jieyu Huashe Inn.

After packing, a group of friends went to play billiards, while Xiaofan and I chose to wander around. We wandered aimlessly, chatting as the day (evening) turned into night. Afterward, the group headed out for dinner.

Delicious food in Shuhe. A friend suggested we go here, and we were surprised how good it was.

Business is very good, and there's always a line. We happened to have a private room, so the wait wasn't long.

As for the dishes, the meat is expensive, while the vegetarians are cheap. You can order a mix.

The environment is nice, and the service is good. It's okay.

We went back a few times later, and my friend almost cried because he ordered a second helping of fish. He was really drunk!

Baisha Ancient Town

I had heard of Baisha Ancient Town when I came to Lijiang in 2019, but I didn't have time (actually, I hadn't planned to go to Lijiang that time. I came together because my tour guide suggested it, and then I arranged other itineraries).

Baisha Ancient Town may not be as crowded as Dayan Ancient Town, but it feels quite crowded here, and it seems to have become more commercialized, but that's to be expected. There were several barbecue stalls along the road, and they smelled delicious (I didn't buy anything; the smell was enough; a friend went to buy some and forced me to take a bite. It was delicious). While strolling around, I bought a bottle of woody perfume at a local Yunnan perfume shop, which I was quite satisfied with. I also bought some chicken feet snacks, and planned to have drinks and fun in the inn's garden that evening. This morning, the boys' group finally welcomed Sister Xue, and we took her out for a day of fun before returning to the inn.

Lugu Lake

Before dawn, the group had already left. Today, we signed up for a "Lugu Lake Day Tour."

I also took a day tour in 2019, but had originally planned to try a two-day tour, which would have been relaxing and allowed for a deeper exploration. But unfortunately, time was tight and didn't allow it~

After arriving at the first observation deck, everyone got off the bus to take photos. We were quite enthusiastic, but we found that after seeing Yanghu Lake and Namtso Lake in Tibet, these were child's play in our eyes.

After snapping a few photos, everyone headed back, saying as they walked: "We shouldn't have gone to Tibet so early, nothing is interesting now."

In fact, we spent a little longer in the cultural and creative shops than we did taking in the sights. Of course, there were still some attractions that made us happy, such as the Walking Marriage Bridge. Several friends were having a great time getting free samples along the way, and the pig trough boat tour on the lake was also beautiful!

After lunch, there were still a few attractions to visit, but since I was seeing them for the second time and felt sleepy after eating, I didn't get off the bus to see them!

When I woke up, I found a few friends still on the bus. Maybe they were tired or not interested, so they were all resting on the bus.

It seemed like everyone was so relaxed and casual, hahaha. The drive is about 4 hours one way. If time permits, you can take a two-day tour and take a boat tour to visit the filming locations of "Dear Inn." I also learned about Lugu Lake through this show, which I love, so I've been wanting to visit, but I haven't had much time. I hope that next time I'm in Yunnan, I can spend more time there, reduce my itinerary, and enjoy another quiet visit to Lugu Lake!
