new chocolate factory

Back in Novermber the Church shops on Elkhorn sold and it was announced a new chocolate factory was going in there. Did that every get opened? I can't find any recent information on it.

Arriving at Denver International Airport (DEN) at 12:30 AM with an infant and toddler can indeed be challenging since most airport shops and restaurants are closed. However, there are ways to make your layover manageable and even comfortable, especially on a budget.

Resting options within the airport:

  • Designated Rest Areas: DEN has several seating zones with lounge-style chairs and some recliners where you can set up a temporary resting spot for the kids. Bringing your own blanket or travel pillow is recommended.
  • Family-Friendly Spaces: While play areas are typically closed overnight, the concourses have wide spaces where children can safely move around under supervision.
  • Seating with Power Outlets: These areas allow you to keep devices charged and entertain your children with tablets or other electronics.

Lounges and paid access:

  • Many airport lounges, such as The Centurion Lounge (Amex) and United Club, allow day passes even for non-members. Policies differ, so check availability online beforehand.
  • Day passes usually range from $40–$75 per adult, and children under a certain age may enter for free.

Airport hotel options for short-term rest:

  • Hyatt House Denver Airport: Offers shuttle service and sometimes short-term stays if arranged in advance.
  • Grand Hyatt Denver or Westin Denver International Airport: Primarily full-night stays, but early check-in or “day use” may be possible if you call ahead.

Additional practical tips for overnight layover with young children:

  • Pack snacks, diapers, blankets, and comfort items for the kids since stores will be closed.
  • Consider a small travel bassinet or foldable toddler bed if your children are very young.
  • Choose a quieter concourse corner to minimize noise and traffic.
  • Check for 24-hour family or nursing rooms in the airport, which provide privacy and comfort for infants.

In summary, for a budget-conscious approach, using airport seating with your own supplies is practical. For added comfort, purchasing a lounge day pass or arranging a short-term stay at a nearby airport hotel can provide rest and privacy. Planning ahead ensures a smoother and more comfortable overnight layover at DEN with young children.
