Recommend Marriott hotel for Disneyland? Walk to parks
Hello, sorry I know it’s been asked before. Looking for a Marriott branded hotel close to Disneyland for early summer. I would like to walk and looking at map the Anaheim Marriott seems further from the entrance than other hotels. Which would you recommend? Budget hopefully about 300 a night. Willing to consider non Marriott if closer to walk. Thanks in advance!
When it comes to walking distance to Disneyland, the Anaheim Marriott is indeed farther than several other Marriott-branded (and Marriott-adjacent) options. It’s walkable in theory, but not ideal—it’s roughly a 20–25 minute walk to the Harbor Blvd security entrance, which can feel long after a full park day. For early summer and a $300/night target, you have several much better, closer options within the Marriott family or very close to it.
Below are the best Marriott choices for walking access, along with strong non-Marriott alternatives that are significantly closer.
Top Marriott-Branded Hotels Within Comfortable Walking Distance
- Court Yard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance
This is the #1 Marriott pick if walking distance is your priority. It is directly on Harbor Blvd about a 7–8 minute walk to security. Rooms are large, modern, and ideal for families. The surf-themed water park is a big draw. Prices can run higher but deals around your budget do pop up.
- Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center
About a 10-minute walk along Harbor. Modern suites with kitchenettes, rooftop pool, and free breakfast. For value + walkability + roomy spaces, this is one of the strongest Marriott choices.
- SpringHill Suites at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center (Harbor Blvd)
This property is also around a 10-minute walk. Bright rooms, modern feel, great breakfast, and generally easier on the budget than the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance.
- Fairfield Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort
Very close to the entrance—about a 7–10 minute walk. Rooms are basic but clean and solid. Prices often fall in the $250–$300 range depending on dates. Super reliable choice.
Marriott Options That Are Walkable But Not Ideal
- Anaheim Marriott
About a 20–25 minute walk to Harbor entrance. High-quality hotel, but location is not nearly as convenient for park days. Good if you prefer a convention-style hotel and don’t mind the longer walk.
- JW Marriott Anaheim Resort
Lovely and upscale with great amenities, but walking distance is similar to Anaheim Marriott and routes are slightly indirect. Often above your budget unless discounted.
Excellent Non-Marriott Hotels That Are Closer Than All of the Above
If you’re willing to go outside the Marriott brand, there are several hotels almost directly across from the entrance—fantastic for minimizing walking.
- Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground (HoJo)
About a 7–8 minute walk. Clean, very family-friendly, and often praised for reliability and comfort.
- Best Western Plus Park Place Inn & Mini Suites
Directly across from the Harbor security entrance—literally the closest reasonable hotel to Disneyland. Very popular for convenience.
- Desert Inn & Suites
Right next to the Best Western. Budget-friendly and unbeatable location, though rooms are more basic.
- Grand Legacy at the Park
A 5-minute walk. Modernized and very convenient.

- Court Yard Marriott Theme Park Entrance

- SpringHill Suites (Harbor Blvd)
- Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort
If you want the shortest walk possible and don’t require Marriott branding, choose:
- Best Western Plus Park Place Inn
- Desert Inn & Suites
- Grand Legacy
- HoJo Anaheim
Final Thoughts
The Anaheim Marriott is a beautiful property, but for Disneyland it’s simply not the most convenient walk — especially in summer heat or after fireworks when your feet are spent. If walking is a top priority, go with the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance, Fairfield, Residence Inn, or SpringHill Suites. They strike the best balance between comfort, reliability, and easy access to the parks.
