Ticket price query - Disneyland website v Undercover Tourist

Hello

I will be purchasing 3 x 4 day Disneyland park hopper tickets with Lightening Lane multipass (for dates in late June/early July).

I have looked at the prices on the Disneyland website and the total is $2,091. I have also looked at prices on the Undercover Tourist website and the total for the same tickets is $1,763, however it says the savings compared with gate prices is $105, which doesn't add up. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a really good deal on at the moment with Undercover Tourist?

I would appreciate some advice as I don't want to make any mistakes when I purchase tickets.

Thanks, Cassie

It’s common to see discrepancies between Disneyland’s official website pricing and authorized third-party sellers like Undercover Tourist. Here’s a breakdown of what might be happening in your situation:

1. Disneyland Website Pricing: The official site will always show the standard “gate” price for the tickets, including the Park Hopper and any optional add-ons like the Lightning Lane (formerly Genie+). This tends to be the maximum retail price and is fully backed by Disney.

2. Undercover Tourist Pricing: Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller, and they often offer slight discounts below Disneyland gate prices. The pricing you’re seeing ($1,763 vs $2,091) likely includes both a discounted ticket rate and possibly a promotional deal. However, the “savings compared with gate prices” figure they show ($105) may only be referencing the base ticket portion, not the add-ons like Lightning Lane, which can cause the math to appear inconsistent.

Other factors to consider:

  • Undercover Tourist sometimes charges slightly less than the official site for multi-day tickets due to negotiated rates with Disney or pre-purchased bulk tickets.
  • The displayed “savings” on their site may not include the full combination of add-ons you’re purchasing; it often compares only the base 1-day or base multi-day ticket price to the gate price.
  • Authorized resellers like Undercover Tourist are reputable, but make sure the tickets are dated correctly and match your planned visit dates.

Recommendations:

  • Double-check that the Undercover Tourist tickets are valid for your specific travel dates, including the Park Hopper and Lightning Lane components.
  • Compare the final totals including all taxes and fees—sometimes fees are included differently on third-party sites versus Disneyland’s site.
  • If the price difference is significant and the tickets meet all requirements, purchasing from Undercover Tourist is safe and commonly done by many visitors to save money.

In short, it appears that Undercover Tourist is offering a legitimate discount beyond what their “savings compared with gate prices” label suggests. The discrepancy is normal and is usually just due to how they calculate the displayed savings.
