Gluten Free/ Celiac safe

Hello again. We are visiting Sedona over Thanksgiving this year. We are a looking for a Celiac safe dinner for Thanksgiving as one of our kids is a very symptomatic Celiac. We found several wonderful casual dining places that are safe for her but they don't take reservations. Looking for a more traditional meal.

We are open to take out or dine in for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thank you

Finding a Celiac-safe Thanksgiving dinner in Sedona requires some planning, as many restaurants may not take reservations and gluten-free options for traditional holiday meals can be limited. Fortunately, Sedona has several establishments that are knowledgeable about gluten-free and Celiac-safe dining.

Options for a Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner:

  • Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill: Known for accommodating dietary restrictions, they often prepare Thanksgiving specials with advance notice. They have a dedicated gluten-free menu, and the staff is trained to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Elote Cafe: Offers high-end Mexican cuisine with several naturally gluten-free options. While they may not have a traditional turkey dinner, you can inquire about a special Thanksgiving menu that is Celiac safe. Reservations are recommended as they fill up quickly.
  • ChocolaTree Organic Oasis: A casual, fully gluten-free and organic restaurant. They may offer takeout Thanksgiving meals if dine-in seating is limited. Ideal for ensuring absolute safety for a symptomatic Celiac guest.

Other Strategies:

  • Check with the local Sedona resorts, such as L’Auberge de Sedona or Enchantment Resort, as they sometimes offer Thanksgiving dinners with gluten-free accommodations, and reservations are possible.
  • Call ahead to restaurants to discuss the possibility of a customized Thanksgiving meal that is fully gluten-free. Even if not on the standard menu, many chefs are willing to prepare something safe if they know in advance.
  • Consider pre-ordering a takeout Thanksgiving meal from a fully gluten-free cafe, which allows your family to enjoy a traditional meal in a safe, controlled environment.

Summary: For a traditional Celiac-safe Thanksgiving in Sedona, your best approach is to combine advance reservation at a restaurant known for gluten-free accommodations, or arrange a takeout meal from a dedicated gluten-free establishment. Mariposa, Elote, and ChocolaTree are your top choices, with resorts as backup options for a more formal experience.
