Pool heating?

Does anyone know if pool heating is needed end of March start of April?

Just requested it was added on and was quoted €500 for it for 10 days seems alot so wondering if we can do without it

End of March and early April in Orlando generally bring mild to warm daytime temperatures, often ranging from the mid-70s to low-80s °F (24–28°C), with cooler evenings in the 50s–60s °F (10–18°C). While this weather is comfortable for many outdoor activities, swimming in an unheated pool can feel chilly, especially in the mornings or evenings.

Key considerations when deciding whether to pay for pool heating:

  • Morning swims: Water can be cooler early in the day, so heating may make morning swims more enjoyable.
  • Evening swims: After sunset, the water can cool down quickly. Heated pools extend usable swim time into the evening.
  • Daytime comfort: On sunny afternoons, many find the pool comfortable even without heating, particularly if air temps are above 75°F.
  • Guests’ sensitivity: Children and less tolerant adults may prefer heated water to avoid discomfort.

Alternative approaches to reduce costs:

  • Use the pool mainly during peak sun hours (10 am–4 pm) when water warms naturally.
  • Consider using a pool cover if provided—it can retain warmth during cooler hours.
  • If the pool heating fee is high, evaluate how often you'll realistically swim and if brief swims in cooler water are acceptable.

Summary: Pool heating is not strictly necessary for end of March/early April, especially if you plan to swim in the warmer daytime hours. However, if you want maximum comfort for morning or evening swims, or if guests are sensitive to cooler water, it can be worth the extra cost. €500 for 10 days is on the higher side, so weigh the convenience and enjoyment versus natural water temperatures.
