Where to stay in Yangshuo recommendations

Hello everyone, we have three full days in Yangshuo where we would like to visit xianggong Mountain, laozhai, cuiping, xingping and ruyi peak and weather permitting do some bamboo cruising.

I have booked a hotel in Yangshuo Village but I've seen that it's not that close to these attractions (except ruyi peak)

Any ideas of an area where I should look for a nice hotel with views but in a strategic position?

Thanks

For a three-day stay in Yangshuo with the plan to visit Xianggong Mountain, Laozhai, Cuiping, Xingping, Ruyi Peak, and possibly do a bamboo cruise, the location of your accommodation can make a significant difference in convenience and scenery.

Yangshuo Village is a popular area for tourists, but as you noted, it is not very close to most of the natural attractions, except Ruyi Peak. To maximize your time and enjoy the views, you may want to consider staying in areas along the Li River or closer to the countryside, which are more strategically located for sightseeing.

  • West Street (Xi Jie) area: Centrally located in Yangshuo town, this area has plenty of restaurants, shops, and nightlife. It’s convenient for arranging day trips and transportation, but it’s slightly farther from the scenic viewpoints.
  • Near Xingping Village: About 20-30 minutes from Yangshuo, this area provides iconic views of the Li River and Karst mountains. Ideal for sunrise/sunset photography and very close to the bamboo rafting starting points.
  • Yangdi / Xingping ferry area: For direct access to Xianggong Mountain and Laozhai, staying near Yangdi or the ferry points is strategic. You can reach Xianggong for sunrise without a long drive.
  • Rural homestays along the Li River: Consider countryside guesthouses or boutique hotels along the Li River between Yangshuo town and Xingping. They provide spectacular river and mountain views and easy access to multiple peaks for hiking and photography.

Other considerations:

  • Most hotels can help arrange taxis or electric bikes to attractions, but staying closer to the attractions saves travel time.
  • Check whether your accommodation has parking or shuttle services if you plan to hire a car or join local tours.
  • If scenic views are a priority, riverside or hillside hotels often offer the best experience compared to town-based hotels.

In summary, for a balance between convenience and scenic experience, areas near Xingping Village, along the Li River, or near the Yangdi ferry are excellent choices. West Street is convenient for dining and nightlife but less ideal for early-morning trips to scenic spots.
