Overnight Parking at Homewood Suites HD

We will be staying 1 night at the Homewood Suites Historic District. Homewood Suites only has Valet Parking at $50 a night. We were hoping to find someplace a little less expensive and where we don't have to leave our keys with someone. Does anyone have a suggestion?

If you're looking for more affordable parking options near Homewood Suites Historic District in Savannah and prefer not to leave your keys with valet, there are a few alternatives in the area that could suit your needs. Parking in the historic district can be a bit tricky, but there are several nearby lots and garages that offer self-parking at a lower rate.

Here are some alternatives to consider for overnight parking:

  • City of Savannah Parking Garages: The city operates several parking garages in the historic district that are more affordable than valet options. One nearby option is the “State Street Garage,” located just a short walk from Homewood Suites. Rates here are typically lower, and you can park and keep your keys. Rates usually range from $10-$20 for overnight parking, depending on availability and the time of year.
  • Metered Street Parking: There are metered parking spots around the historic district that are free after 8 p.m. and on Sundays. However, these are often limited and can fill up quickly, especially during peak tourist times. If you can find a spot in front of the hotel, it could be a convenient option, but it’s more of a gamble than other options.
  • ParkSavannah: The ParkSavannah system allows you to park at various metered spots around the city and pay through a mobile app. If you can find a spot in one of the zones, it’s a more flexible option than traditional parking garages, though availability may vary.
  • Parking Lots near Homewood Suites: There are a few private parking lots within walking distance of the hotel, such as the “Bell Street Parking Lot” or “The Ellis Square Parking Garage.” Rates at these lots can range from $15 to $30 per night, depending on the season. Most allow you to park your own car and keep your keys, which gives you more control over your vehicle.

In summary, if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to valet parking at Homewood Suites, your best bet is to look for one of the nearby public parking garages or lots in the historic district. City garages tend to be the most affordable and provide self-parking without the need to leave your keys with anyone. Be sure to check rates and availability ahead of time, as parking can be limited during peak times.

Enjoy your stay in Savannah, and I hope you find a convenient and affordable parking option!
