Walk-in Dining at Disney's Boardwalk - Is It Possible?
In a few days, we'll be arriving at Disney and plan to spend the evening at the Boardwalk area. I tried making a reservation, but only one restaurant was available for the time I chose. Is it possible to walk in and get a table, or is an advance reservation absolutely necessary?
Disney’s Boardwalk is a popular dining and entertainment area, so planning ahead is always recommended. However, walking in without a reservation is sometimes possible depending on the time of day, the restaurant, and how busy the parks and resorts are.
Walk-in possibilities:
- Some restaurants on the Boardwalk do accept walk-ins, particularly for bar seating or counter-service locations.
- Table-service restaurants tend to fill up quickly, especially in the evening, so availability can be limited without a reservation.
- Arriving early (before peak dinner hours, around 5–6 PM) or later in the evening (after 8:30–9 PM) can increase your chances of getting a table without a reservation.
Tips for walk-ins:
- Check with the host stand immediately upon arrival; they may have cancellations or be able to add you to a waitlist.
- Consider sitting at the bar if the restaurant has a bar area, as these seats are often available without reservations and offer the full menu.
- Use the My Disney Experience app to monitor real-time availability; sometimes last-minute openings pop up.
Alternative options:
- Consider other nearby Disney resorts or Disney Springs for additional walk-in dining options if the Boardwalk restaurants are full.
- Quick-service or lounge-style dining can provide a similar experience without needing a reservation.
In summary, while advance reservations are strongly recommended for Table-Service dining on the Boardwalk, walk-ins are sometimes possible, especially during off-peak hours or at bar seating. Flexibility and arriving early can improve your chances of getting a table.
