Best hotel lobby for a drink

I’m looking for a hotel or resort with nice grounds or a nice lobby bar to meet friends and spend a few hours until our Airbnb is ready. We’re staying in Old Town area but we could meet somewhere else that’s not too far out of the way. Is the Phoenician a good bet?

Thanks in advance!

The Phoenician is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a luxurious setting to meet friends for a drink. Its lobby and surrounding areas offer elegant decor, comfortable seating, and beautiful views of the resort grounds. The resort also has multiple bars and lounges, including the Arrogant Butcher and the Lobby Lounge, where you can enjoy cocktails in a relaxed yet upscale environment. The resort grounds are lush and well-maintained, providing a pleasant atmosphere to spend a few hours.

Other nearby options in Scottsdale for a similar experience include:

  • Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North: While slightly farther from Old Town, the lobby and lounge area provide a serene environment with desert views and upscale cocktails.
  • Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows: Features a lively bar area with a stylish, modern vibe and outdoor seating in beautifully landscaped grounds. Great for a casual but trendy setting.
  • JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn: Offers a classic Southwestern atmosphere with a comfortable lounge and beautiful outdoor patios where you can relax and enjoy drinks.

Tips for a good experience:

  • Arrive mid-afternoon to early evening for fewer crowds and to enjoy the ambience without the dinner rush.
  • Ask for seating with a view of the resort gardens or pool area to make your time more relaxing.
  • Consider calling ahead to confirm open seating in the lobby or lounge if you’re planning a group gathering, especially on weekends.

Overall, The Phoenician is a top pick for its combination of elegance, beautiful grounds, and high-quality bar service. However, the other resorts listed also provide excellent environments if you prefer something closer to Old Town or with a slightly more casual vibe.
